Saab’s work supports good-paying Hoosier jobs, strengthens America’s defense industrial base, and is another way Indiana is contributing to our national security.

Assistant Secretary Chris Pilkerton visited Saab, Inc. in West Lafayette, Indiana with @RepJimBaird to demonstrate how investment from companies that complete CFIUS review can strengthen U.S. national security and local economies.
The visit was another opportunity for the Office of Investment Security to highlight Treasury’s Strategic Vendor Program and Investment Security Technology Initiative. @Saab supports America’s warfighters and the defense industrial base, working with more than 1,200 domestic suppliers across 41 states.

Agriculture is so impactful to Indiana.
According to @ISDAgov,
- $35.1 billion in estimated contributions to Indiana’s economy from agriculture.
- Over 94,000 farmers in Indiana
- No. 1 in the nation for popcorn production.
- No. 2 in the nation for pumpkin production.
- 94% of Indiana farms are family-owned or operated.
- 90 of 92 counties have FFA chapters preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Hoosier farmers, an important update:
USDA announced $8 billion in one-time relief to help offset diesel and other harvest season costs.
Protecting farmers’ bottom lines and keeping their operations strong is vital to ensuring they can continue to feed and fuel America and support rural communities.

Today, @POTUS and @SecRollins announced the Harvest Fuel Relief Program — making $8 BILLION available for one-time payments to farmers facing higher costs and market disruptions.
Here’s what that means:
➡️ Payments to help cover a portion of estimated losses for the 2026 crop year.
➡️ Payment amounts based on planted acres, production costs, crop yields, and prices.
➡️ Row crop payment rates announced in November, with details for other eligible commodities to follow.
➡️ Application will be available online using a Login.gov account that is connected to USDA.

A huge reason I voted for the Working Families Tax Cuts was its expanded estate tax exemption, which helps more families keep their businesses going and pass their farms and traditions down to the next generation.

Today I introduced the Sudan IMPACT Act, which will establish an agricultural and minerals partnership between the United States and Sudan.
Sudan’s mineral resources could help expand the supply of materials we use in technologies Americans rely on every day, like phones and cars.
This legislation offers a path toward greater economic cooperation with the United States and Sudan, provided Sudan’s government shows real progress in protecting its people.
