America’s manufacturing gap isn’t machining capacity. It’s capital for greenfield product factories. We financed 2,300 plant projects in WWII. Here’s how recovered federal fraud could fund a New Industrial Deal for rural America and its young workers.
Unitree is subsidized manufacturing. That specifically means that government policies and government money are fueling their ability to take raw material and turn it into functional technology.
Shipped units above all else.
US equivalents try to figure out how to get custom bearings from Shenzhen to eek out 1% optimization of thermal load while Unitree and other competitors ship thousands of robots inside of domestic Chinese markets.
We're overly reliant and it's an economic, security, and sovereignty risk.
Fund companies buying machines, not just IP.
Stop pretending we can't catch up, we can.
Start betting on the American builders who know how to make things.
If your bill of materials is reliant on an adversary, you are going to have a very bad time when the adversary is adversarial.
This is what happens when you let the Brooklynites build bots. We're honestly here for it. Can't wait for Voxel to fetch us a bagel and yell "I'm walkin' here" at the dogs.
Engineering Voxel means crafting character into the machine.
Inside Tuesday Labs, world-class engineers team up with legendary Hollywood animators to shape how he moves, communicates, and lives in the home.
The team drew from their favorite characters in film and literature, human-robot-interaction research, etiquette guides, and their own experience building robots to create Voxel.
Inside the making of Voxel.
You don't need a custom actuator. You need a standard actuator that works. That's what we're making in America.
We did the math and we are pretty sure we can make this with @sendcutsend , @OSHBuilt , @rmfgdotcom , and @McMasterCarr. Is this American Dynamism? cc. @a16z .
If you are truly trying to #reindustrialize, you need to stare at what we abandoned. @ridethenews is covering it more than any other documentarian on YouTube. Their channel is a roadmap of where to set up shop. These are communities who want it back. youtube.com/watch?v=rBYpJ53A…

It’s really simple. Our Robots and AI vs their Robots and AI. If we can catch up on robotics/software , and can stay ahead on AI, there is zero reason manufacturing won’t come back, or initiate here.
At Cost Plus Drugs, the only thing holding us back from making generic drugs cheaper in Dallas than we can buy from Asia, are the fees we have to pay.

Palmer Luckey says companies are exaggerating the cost of American manufacturing to justify staying in China: “They don’t want to admit that it is a choice.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“I don’t have a lot of sympathy for people who pretend that manufacturing in the U.S. is this impossible, order-of-magnitude problem. A lot of it is very self-serving.
They want to justify why they’re in China. They want to justify why it’s OK for them to stay in China. They know that when sanctions hit as a result of a potential Taiwan conflict, they want to say, ‘Nobody could’ve predicted this, and I had no choice anyway.’
They don’t want to admit that it is a choice.
If Chinese subsidized steel is a third of the price of American unsubsidized steel, a tariff isn’t going to work. But if the price difference really is 30%, then a tariff could bring the American steel industry back.
It’s critically important to get this question right, and there aren’t enough people talking about it.”
These investors are typically investing in Chinese companies, directly or indirectly. Assembled in the U.S. means Made-in-China.
A defensible revenue model in American manufacturing is making progressively larger flags for factories. How big is the flag at Terafab going to be @elonmusk ?
Anatar set a new record by producing and installing this 32' x 62' American flag in two weeks for @HadrianInc. Sewn seams, sewn stars, and unbridled patriotism.
Hey @BrendanCarrFCC, we need a way to report companies lying about where they manufacture. Advertising U.S.-based services then quoting Chinese Job Shops is not even misleading, it's false advertising. It's a supply chain risk as we aim to manufacture in the United States.
Manifest destiny, but to the stars.
