The largest math proof in human history is now computer-verified. Today, Axiom announces a complete Lean auto-formalization of the Classification of Finite Simple Groups, the "periodic table of symmetry." About 15,000 pages, built by over 100 mathematicians across generations.

ms.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~oshima/pap…

17 squares. No smaller square. I've released the first complete Lean proof of optimality for Bidwell's 1998 packing of 17 squares. Built with @OpenAI Astra + @AnthropicAI Opus 5.5. Thanks to @ManassehA06 & @ojoshe for prior work. github.com/ofitzharding/sq17…

You know that famous fact "Axiom of Choice is equivalent to all vector spaces having a basis"? That was always kind of bs; the <= direction relied on the Axiom of Foundation, which isn't "supposed to" be used for mathematical consequences. A Foundation-free proof has been found!

C_p(ℝ)とC_p([0, 1])は同相だということが知られているが、C_p([0, 1])とC_p([0, 1]^2)が同相かは未解決らしい math.md/files/basm/y2013-n2-…
