Handy little AI productivity tool I discovered recently:
It’s called Rev and it’s the ultimate AI workstation for audio use cases.
Here’s a few things it can do:
1. Instant transcriptions and summaries from every meeting
2. Summary templates for discovery calls, interviews etc.
3. Pulls out insights + actions from every conversation
4. Desktop recorder to dictate notes to yourself
5. Ask specific questions to your transcripts
6. Workspaces and dashboards for teams
7. Mobile app for on-the-go recordings
8. Real-time bookmarking during calls
It also seems like the only player in this space with enterprise-grade security (HIPAA, SOC 2, TLS encryption, SSO), so they are crushing it with law firms, consultants, agencies etc. handing client info.
Over 1 million (!) users worldwide.

Let's goo! @rev just dropped a Whisper killer! Open weight Speech transcription & Diarization model beating the current SoTA! 🔥
Bonus: Model weights on the 🤗 Hub
> Reverb ASR: A state-of-the-art English ASR model, trained on an unprecedented 200K hours of human-transcribed data, achieving the SoTA WER with customizable verbatim transcription.
> Diarization: Rev fine-tuned models with pyannote, leveraging 26K hours of labeled data. Reverb v1 uses pyannote3.0, while v2 adopts WavLM over SincNet.
Rev ASR Architecture:
> Architecture: Features a powerful CTC/attention architecture with 18-conformer and 6-transformer layers, and 600M parameters. Language-specific layers control verbatim output.
> Inference: Supports various decoding modes, including CTC, attention, and joint CTC/attention decoding.
> Production ready: Optimized pipeline with WFST beam search, unigram LM, and attention rescoring. Parallel processing ensures fast turnaround with post-processing for formatted output.
Reverb Diarization Architecture:
> v1 is based on pyannote3.0 architecture, fine-tuned on Rev's data for 17 epochs, using an A100 GPU for 4 days. It has 2 LSTM layers with 2.2M parameters.
> v2: An advanced version, replaces SincNet features with WavLM, offering more precise diarization.
It's great to see market leaders like @rev - adopting open weights strategy! Kudos!!

I've been giving the whole Substack thing a try, just jotted down some thoughts about participating at #SXSW this weekend with @zohardayan from @Vimeo, @AmandaMoMorris from @washingtonpost, and @fer_trueba23 from @rev. A great experience all around!

I just wanted to publicly thank @Rev. I asked them to make it easier to download transcripts from the confirmation Emails. I placed an order with them today and that's exactly what now happens. It makes a huge difference as it saves a great deal of time.

I love rev.com for closed captions. They even seem to be able to understand Australian which google hasn't always been awesome at 😉

Also in terms of accuracy, Rev > Otter > Azure. We tried all 3.

I promise, not getting a commission from Rev/Temi lol. But my god, I really (really REEEAAALLLLY) hate transcribing and if you do as well, then…you’re welcome. :-)

Yep, that's what I use for transcribing my videos (the professional, manually-transcribed version)! Have been using them since 2016.

Amazed at how well @rev's AI transcription works. I use it to create/clean up automated transcripts from podcast audio, before processing in @RoamResearch
Fav feature: the AI recognises different voices, so you change the name of a speaker in one place, and it updates everywhere

i’ve decided to start commenting asking tiktok creators to use captions every time i see one without them, and so far i’ve not had a single person get shirty with me - in fact, most have thanked me for reminding them about accessibility. honestly, the next gen are wonderful 🥲

ALT A screenshot of a Tiktok comment thread between Chloe Sargeant and an anonymous creator (the name and photo has been blacked out for privacy). Chloe Sargeant’s comment reads “your tiktoks are amazing but can you please use captions? Your disabled followers would really appreciate it (smiling hopeful face emoji)” The anonymous reply reads “thank you and yes of course! i’ll start adding from now on, thanks for letting me know”
