Can neuro-inspired ANN architectures be useful for motor control in quadruped robots? We translate neural circuits in the limbs and spinal cord of mammals into an ANN architecture controlling quadruped locomotion. w/ @venkyp2000, @LerrelPinto, @neurograce

Time for a tweeprint of our latest paper! We found that neuron densities follow a lognormal distribution within and across cerebral cortical areas in several species! 🧠🐒🐁🧍 🧵

🪩#TWEEPRINT "Evaluating the statistical similarity of neural network activity and connectivity via eigenvector angles" doi.org/10.1016/j.biosystems… #NeuralNetworks #Neuroscience #Statistics #CompNeuro I'm very excited to finally see this published. Let me tell you about it: 🧵 1/5

We demonstrate how the similarity score correctly indicates correlated subgroup structures between network realizations. The test complements classical tests (e.g Kolmogorov-Smirnov) because it compares the organization of correlations in a network instead of just the amount. 4/5

Additionally, the test can also compare synaptic weight matrices. In rewiring experiments, we measure which connectivity properties have an over- or under-proportional effect on the spiking correlations. Thus, presenting a means to measure effects of the network dynamics 🧠🕸 5/5
