Congressman Don Bacon appeared with Brinker Harding at his campaign office today, stumping for the NE-02 candidate just days ahead of the midterm election. Bacon also took issue with allegations Harding would be a “rubber stamp” for Trump, citing his opposition to the $5,000 dividend as “not a wise idea—it’s inflationary.” “He is not a rubber stamp. He's gonna do what he thinks is best for this district. And I think he's taken key positions during this campaign and made it clear,” Bacon said. “Contrast that with Ms. Powell. I don't think she's demonstrated at all that she would not be a rubber stamp for Hakeem Jeffries, who by the way is here today, campaigning for her.”

This evening, I was able to take Bacon's comment about Powell being a "rubber stamp" for Jeffries directly to Powell and Jeffries themselves. Here's what they had to say: “One of the things that I really respect about Leader Jeffries is that he may represent Brooklyn, but he knows that Nebraska is not Brooklyn,” Powell said. “He understands that we are being elected to represent the people of our district and our state. And as I've said before, I will go toe-to-toe with anybody who's trying to push anything that is going to hurt Nebraskans.” Jeffries added, “There are going to be times where she's going to disagree with members of her own party, and she's demonstrated the ability and willingness to do it—by always putting the people of Nebraska first.”

As Election Day approaches, Republicans in Omaha rally behind a message of law enforcement and public safety, with Gov. Jim Pillen, AG Mike Hilgers, Sheriff Aaron Hanson, and County Attorney Don Kleine all speaking. Read about it here: plains-sentinel.com/p/republ…

With Election Day next week, Dan Osborn brought a “motley crew” to share the stage with him at an Omaha town hall. They included Ro Khanna, Joe Walsh, and Marc Racicot, and the Q&A included questions on Nebraska’s girls’ sports ballot initiative and young people losing hope. Read about it here. plains-sentinel.com/p/social…

It is worth noting that lowering property taxes was the exact same ploy to get casino gambling legalized in Nebraska. Property taxes have continued to climb since then. 1011now.com/2020/10/15/nebra…
Replying to @johnrobertgage
Mike Foley (R) and Joey Spellerberg (R) are in a commercial against it. The claims that the gaming industry have made about revenues are false. Ho-Chunk completely lied to us about the proceeds for property tax just like Fanduel and Draftking are doing now.

Rep. Ro Khanna campaigned with Dan Osborn in Omaha yesterday, speaking directly to young people in the crowd voicing frustration with the current system: "We've gotta wake this thing up once and for all. It's gonna be your generation that takes back a vision of boldness and reform that you wanna see, and you're winning across the board. They're winning. Mamdani's winning. You've got people like Talarico winning. Josh Turek is winning. Dan Osborn is winning."

Nearly all Republican infighting has a simple explanation. It has nothing to do with “principles” or “country over party,” but rather which GOP faction you’re a part of and whether that faction is currently in charge of the party. That’s it.

There's something fascinating about the press gaggle. It's a challenge for the politician—answering rapid-fire questions from a group of reporters—but it's the perfect testing ground to see if candidates can think on their feet. And it's fun for the reporters too. You're there with a handful of people all trying to jump in and get a question in, like hitting the buzzer on Family Feud. I've done them with Denise Powell, Brinker Harding, Pete Ricketts, and even national figures like Speaker Mike Johnson, Steve Scalise, and Leader John Thune. You know who I've never seen hold one, however? Dan Osborn.

Dan Osborn is holding a town hall this afternoon with Congressman Ro Khanna, former Congressman Joe Walsh, former RNC Chair Marc Racicot, and former Nebraska Libertarian Party Chair Rachael Nelson. Osborn says his first priority if elected will be releasing the Epstein files.

One of the best things about the First Amendment is that if you feel the media are biased, you can simply pick up a laptop or a phone and work to balance it out yourself.

So I made a brief appearance on @RSBNetwork yesterday. Air Force One had just landed and Trump's motorcade was on its way. I had just a few minutes to get back to the media risers so I could get photos of his entrance, but I had to squeeze past Alec Lace first.

There have been videos shared online of the woman removed from Trump's Sioux City rally yesterday, but nobody seems to have noticed the man who appeared to be with her. He was wearing a custom T-shirt with a picture of the ejected woman on it—holding up two middle fingers.

The left liberally uses terms like “fascism” in the hopes that they can make people take jokes they don’t like as seriously as the Holocaust. What happens instead is the opposite. People start treating the Holocaust like it’s some kind of Internet meme.

Joe Mitchell got the wrong memo. It's District 2 in Nebraska, not Iowa, that's obsessed with getting rid of bike trails.

President Trump held a rally to boost Iowa candidates in Sioux City yesterday. I chatted with guests and candidates in the hangar, including Sen. Tim Scott, who hinted at an announcement early next year and a return to Iowa. Read more about it here. plains-sentinel.com/p/trump-…

President Trump has taken the stage. He gave a shout out to Nebraska and Pete Ricketts while campaigning in Iowa. An older man and woman started yelling during his comments on transgenderism. The woman was quickly ejected and the man followed her out.

The hangar at the Sioux City airport where Trump will be speaking shortly was filled to capacity before the event started. They just now opened the rear door to the hangar to slow more viewing source to the overflow crowd outside.
