With @RoyalLythamGolf returning to @TheOpen rotation in 2028, the club will host its 12th men’s Open Championship, breaking a tie with Royal Birkdale (hosting this summer for the 11th time) for 6th most Opens hosted. Only Royal St. George’s (15) and Royal Liverpool (13) have hosted the event more in England.
Royal Lytham & St. Annes last hosted the men’s Open in 2012, when @TheBig_Easy captured his second Claret Jug. Previous winners also include David Duval (2001), Tom Lehman (1996), Seve Ballesteros (1988, 1979), Gary Player (1974), Tony Jacklin (1969), Bob Charles (1963), Peter Thomson (1958), Bobby Locke (1952), and Bobby Jones (1926).
More recently, the club hosted its fifth @AIGWomensOpen in 2018, won by England’s own Georgia Hall. It also hosted the 1977 and 1961 Ryder Cup, both won by the U.S.

The best path is revealed once an obstacle is overcome.
This cavernous bunker guards the view of the 16th fairway from the tee but once it is cleared, the hole is laid out in front of you.
Summer is growing ever nearer.
