We now live in a nation where: Doctors can profit from sickness. Lawyers can bury justice. Universities can replace knowledge with ideology. Government can trade freedom for control. The press can replace information with propaganda. Banks can privatize profits and socialize losses. At some point, you have to stop asking whether the system is broken. Maybe the system is functioning exactly as the people benefiting from it intended. When institutions protect themselves before the people they were created to serve, that isn’t public service. That’s institutional corruption wearing a suit and calling itself civilization.
