HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has spent decades working tirelessly to promote youth causes around the world.
In Delhi, he met with a group of inspiring young Indian students to hear about their journey with @iaypindia.
Fantastic to watch this event from afar. Huge thanks to @UKinIndia for hosting this timely, important visit to India to celebrate the fantastic work of the @iaypindia and forge new partnerships on non-formal education and learning.

Today marks 25 years since the bombing of the Admiral Duncan, a gay pub in London.
A quarter of a century on, we remember those who lost their lives in this horrific attack, and continue to fight for a world free from hate 🤍

Good piece by law professor Adam Tomkins, with accurate info on the new hate crime law
He should know - he's the former opposition MSP who chaired the Parliament committee that scrutinised the hate crime bill

Working in Edinburgh at @StonewallScot for the next couple of days and great to see @LGBTHealthy support for victims and survivors of conversion practices being advertised so prominently.
If you live in Scotland, please respond to the @scotgov consultation on banning conversion practices in the next fortnight. This is a vital chance to bring forward an effective ban.

While I understand the Speaker created controversy over precedent, he has discretion to call MPs, and the post hoc explanation may now convey an institutional unwillingness to reflect on a significant act of thoughtlessness towards the recipient of the racist abuse being debated
A good explainer, by @AndrewSparrow, of why the Speaker didn't call Diane Abbott.
I think he should have made an exception. But the last time he bent the rules, the sky fell in.
We need a major rethink of Commons procedure, with more time for backbenchers & less 2-party control
The @hopenothate State of Hate 2024 is out - an alarming but incisive and essential analysis of how mainstream and far right actors are promulgating hate and division in Britain.

It is also clear how some are using a mix of anti-LGBTQ+, anti-"woke", anti-migrant, anti-vax, and climate change conspiracy theories, to promulgate suspicion in democracy and institutions.
This is not unique to the UK, but our political leaders need to take it seriously.
As we look at the strange alliances that are seeking to roll back LGBTQ+ rights in the UK, we need to look at how some of the same influences are working in African states to toughen legislation against LGBTQ+ people and holding back progress against HIV.
