Huge news. This evening, I used a wrench that came with some needs-assembly furniture after saving it for 20 years "just in case it comes in useful."

Asylum for white South Africans and failed sketchy Brazilian politicians; but not for people fleeing war and persecution.
New: "The State Department will issue visas to Flavio Bolsanaro and his family and allow them entry into the United States," per a senior State Department official

In other wprds, as every supporter of Ukraine has said since the corruption twins were told to run this, these are not peace talks. At all. They are there solely to enrich Trump and his cronies and Russia
NEW!! U.S. and Russian teams have discussed a sweeping slate of potential energy and commercial deals, including Russian diesel sales, Lukoil’s overseas assets and a possible revival of Nord Stream gas flows to Europe, two U.S. officials informed about the talks told me 1/2

“The easiest thing for a political leader to do is to appeal to our bigotry and our hatred and xenophobia and prejudice, and point to people who are unlike us and say they’re the ones who are damaging our country," Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., August 5, 2016 on Larry King Now. There was a time when I completely agreed with my brother. Today, I am deeply ashamed of him. Arab and Muslim people alike have made extraordinary contributions to the world across literature, science, mathematics, medicine and countless other fields. To name a few, Omar M. Yaghi won the Wolf Prize in Chemistry in 2018 and the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2025. Ahmed Zewail won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1999, and Naguib Mahfouz won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988. A person’s race, religion, ethnicity or socioeconomic background does not determine their intellect, creativity or capacity to contribute to humanity. My thoughts are with all those hurt by my brother’s false, cruel and derogatory words. nytimes.com/2026/10/27/us/rf…

This 👀 kicker. A Mongolian government spokesperson posted Don Trump Jr. discussed US relations and businesses opportunities. Then, the post was deleted, and Trump’s spokesperson said they just talked about the outdoors.
Wow. Financial Times reports that Trump Jr. went on a Mongolian hunting trip with the Russian businessman who financed his wedding party. The trip was in August, three months after the wedding. ft.com/content/f41fc704-c9e6…

Today we learned that it was a 28-year-old DOGE operative who gutted USAID, and HR had no record of him working there. Totally normal stuff.

More Republicans voting blue
This unaffiliated North Carolina voter voted straight blue. And, so did my Republican wife, Republican father-in-law, Republican mother-in-law and even my Republican brother-in-law.

This whole Bolsonaro thing is crazy because international fugitives used to pick Russia to run from accountability. Now, they pick America. They feel safe here. Disgusting. We need to deport every one of these thugs Trump lets in.

By now, I'm ready to call Trump's obeisance to Putin "traitorous" (not the same as "treasonous," which has legal connotations). nytimes.com/2026/10/27/us/po… As @AndrewCMcCarthy has said, there should be a MAJOR investigation into his conduct. @Kasparov63 @jaynordlinger @AdamKinzinger

That some Trump voters speak so disapprovingly of him — and, yet, will still vote GOP, or not vote — speaks to how effective longtime anti-Democratic propaganda and agitprop have been. And, yes, there are some Democratic voters who will "vote blue no matter who." I came to understand after leaving MAGA that there has been a multi-decade, coordinated effort to vilify, demonize and dehumanize Democrats, liberals, progressives and leftists; these efforts have been disciplined and consistent.

I live in South Carolina and have a fairly large friend group. My friends are typically conservative and church-goers. Most of us are fathers and mothers. Many of us are highly-educated professionals. As far as I can tell, all of us will be voting for @AnnieAndrewsMD. Good luck!
For 18 months, I've traveled this state and looked you in the eye. Darline Graham has looked down at a script, written by Washington insiders trying to buy this seat. Ok, one last time: I'm Dr. Annie Andrews and I approve this message.

Jordan Klepper interviews a two-time Trump voter who regrets voting for Trump after his fiancée was deported. "I thought he would be a businessman. I'm disgusted. He's a piece of shit. She's Cuban and they deported her to Mexico like trash. I didn't think anybody could be that cruel." He's now registered as a member of the Democratic Party and says he's owned up to his mistakes for voting for "scum".

Let me show you what it's like to live in an autocracy. This morning, the heating went off in New Belgrade due to a technical malfunction. My mom, an educated woman and a medical doctor who has traveled the world, immediately assumed it was revenge by remnants of the regime because we voted against them. Autocracies change your psyche. The state becomes an actor that persecutes you, takes from you and watches you. This fear and distrust make it harder for people to connect and organize collectively against the regime. Russia is Serbia multiplied a hundredfold.
