I see. So, a Scotland-N. Ireland bridge is ok, but when I suggest a bridge between Chadwell & the USA, I'm denounced as a ‘tw*t.’
I SEE YOUR DOUBLE STANDARDS, GOVERNMENT! Our bridge goes ahead. Work starts tomorrow. By 2030 we'll be walking to Wisconsin. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-s…

As a former Police Minister and notwithstanding the lockdown and pandemic, this has got to be the most absurd, stupid and often brutal police response to a peaceful vigil. Hobnail booted, thick response when smart, risk assessed, intelligence-led policing was demanded. Sad night

This week in Parliament a vote takes place on a Govt Bill giving police further powers to restrict the right to peaceful protest.
Last night’s scenes only reinforce my view of how dangerous this could be.
I will be voting against the Police, Crime, Sentencing & Courts Bill.

Race and the UK press... In six years the press 'self-regulator' IPSO has received well over 15,000 complaints relating to discrimination. It has upheld only one (yes, 1). IPSO was designed to fail minorities. When you hear promises of change, think about that.

On Monday, the policing bill is being rushed through the Commons. It contains some of the most draconian crackdowns on the right of peaceful protest we've seen in our lifetime. politics.co.uk/comment/2021/…

This is one of the most dangerous anti-democratic pieces of legislation in recent times which seeks to criminalise dissent - and Government is trying to rush it through before the opposition organises. Please RT & ask your MP to oppose it next week #PoliceCrackdownBill

Incredibly proud of my friend (and walking buddy!) Sue Perkins for winning this award!
Not only has she kept her existing hospitality businesses alive this year but she had the courage to seize the opportunity for huge expansion.
So glad to see her unique abilities recognised
