The new app is full of bugs. Tokenisation is broken, Absa Pay nolonger works, it sometimes logs you out, some people can't get past the login screen, ghost buttons that don't do anything when pressed. We have not received any communication regarding the issues reported.
To those who make things happen. 👏🏾
This week, we took another important step forward in our digital banking journey at @AbsaUganda by upgrading our Absa Mobile App, Online Banking, and USSD platforms to deliver a sleeker, smarter, and more intuitive banking experience.
For our customers, this means simpler, smoother banking, enhanced user experience, expanded transacting and servicing capabilities, and enhanced security. It also opens up new possibilities, including the opportunity to begin your investment journey with Absa Invest Plus.
But behind such major digital projects is a human story.
There are teams with stories of ideas taking shape, countless hours of building and testing, unexpected failures, late nights, setbacks, moments when morale dips, and the sheer desire to rise again and keep eyes on the mission.
There have been moments that have tested your resilience, strengthened collaboration, and shown the power of a team. Opportunities to be part of such transformational projects come only a handful in our careers, and you’ve not missed it.
Reflecting on this milestone, I couldn’t be prouder and more grateful to work alongside such an amazing team.
To all colleagues and partners: thank you for your commitment, and belief in the mission. This milestone belongs to you, and our customers will be glad for what you’ve built with them and for them.
While our transformation journey continues, this weekend, we pause to celebrate you; the people who dare and make things happen.
Here’s to you who have turned ideas into stories of impact.
As our Ugandan runners say, on, on!

These guys once wanted to clamp my car because I was waiting to turn into a basement parking. There were cars ahead of me & I had my indicator on. Their pick up came speeding and they attempted to clamp the car when I was inside while the engine was running.
Multiplex Ltd come and explain to Ugandans how you secured the @KCCAUG contract to manage and collect street parking fees in Kampala.
We parked on Nasser Road, where everyone else was parking. There were cars in front of and behind ours, some parked before us and others after us. Our car spent only 42 minutes there but we returned to find a UGX 44,000 penalty receipt and a wheel clamp with claims that we had parked in the wrong spot.
When I asked around, people disputed that explanation. I went to your offices and paid without arguing. To my surprise, it took almost another hour for your staff to remove the clamp. I had to go and beg these incompetent men to unlock a car I had already paid for.
@KCCAUG , public contracts are not personal favours to be handed out through connections and bedroom arrangements. If that is how these contracts are being awarded, then you are failing the very people you are supposed to serve.
@KagutaMuseveni @Buzeki_Sharifah @RonaldBalimwezo y’all stop oppressing Ugandans. We are tired, WE ARE REALLY TIRED.
Kati do the work yourself 😒 if you can't afford what someone is asking.
Interesting that your firm is on the panel of some of these private companies 🤔
It's simple. They are reselling without the consent of the telco, breaching terms and conditions plus they would also need a licence feom UCC. If they wish to sell, let them apply for the proper licenses. The telcos invest in infrastructure, maintenance, and pay licence fees.
Why would the UCC arrest young men and women trying to make a living by operating small WiFi businesses? First, they buy data from providers who pay taxes, and they sell Internet to people who can't afford the expensive data bundles offered by telecoms. How is this helping digital integration? Do you have clear regulations for this mushrooming business? @UCC_Official

Astronomers say they have directly detected the first-ever radio emission from a planet outside the solar system. The signal, however, is evidence of a colossal magnetic field — not intelligent life. cnn.it/4ytbjom

So why are they still on the road ????
#GANYEGENYA | The findings !
Of the 247 taxis subjected to first inspection;
❌ 245 FAILED
✅ Only 2 PASSED
That is a 99.2% failure rate!
These are vehicles entrusted with carrying thousands of passengers every day.
Roadworthiness is not optional. Operation Ganyegenya continues…!
What was the Commisioner Road Safety doing all this time?

Isn't interest part of the loan 🤔. What kind of questions are these.
🇺🇬 YOUR LOAN PAYMENT MAY NOT BE REDUCING YOUR LOAN.
COSASE questioned Bank of Uganda over concerns that some deductions from customers’ accounts may not be going towards clearing loans, but instead paying charges and interest.
The Committee asked BoU to investigate how such deductions are structured and whether consumers understand where their money goes.
“How the deductions end up being released from the customer's accounts, not actually paying off the loan, but paying ease.”
Bank of Uganda Governor Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego said the regulator would investigate the complaint before proposing solutions.
“We need to investigate and find out how is this operating? What do they do? So what measures do we need to put in place to mitigate against this?”

That price is fair for 6 × 6 ARFF fully equipped. Fire trucks are really pricey.
🇺🇬 COSASE WANTS ANSWERS: HOW DID AIRPORT FIRE TRUCK COST UGX5.4BN?
COSASE is investigating how UCAA arrived at the Shs5.3985 billion price for a Lion 6x6 aircraft rescue and firefighting truck at Entebbe Airport.
Committee Chairperson Muwada Nkunyingi questioned the cost:
“We want to know how yours cost Shs5.3 billion. What is the uniqueness? How did you arrive at this cost?”
UCAA says the specialised truck carries 12,500 litres of water, foam-fighting equipment and rescue tools. It also says the vehicle was acquired at a comparatively lower price than similar equipment in the region.
COSASE has tasked its researchers with establishing the market price of comparable trucks and ordered UCAA to submit the complete procurement file for scrutiny.

Interesting thing is NITA developed UGPass which is supposed to be used for electronic signatures. The app is available and it also generates a certificate showing that the signature of that NIN signed. URSB should just adopt UGPass
Dear @URSBHQ where do u get such registrars who dnt allow Electronic Signature?
Are they aware of the Law or they are just bypassers?
Stop embarrassing the institution.

Off the shelf software may never meet the yser's needs. Always best to hire an in house team of developers.
Let us do this. How about you identify one DMC taxi and use it on a daily basis. You share with us daily reports on your experience, you can choose to be the passenger or driver.
The Minister should reconsider the Monday, 24 August deadline and give taxi operators sufficient notice. Road safety is non-negotiable, but enforcement must also be fair, predictable and administratively reasonable.
If government has allowed these taxis to operate for years, it cannot reasonably expect every operator to repair, replace or withdraw a vehicle within a few days. A rushed deadline risks disrupting transport for thousands of commuters, particularly along the busy Wakiso, Mukono and Entebbe corridors.
The Minister should therefore extend and revise the deadline, publish the inspection criteria clearly, give operators a reasonable period to rectify defects, and establish a transparent re-inspection process. At the same time, government should mobilise alternative public transport so that enforcement does not leave passengers stranded.
Safety must come first—but good governance requires that enforcement is preceded by adequate notice, clear standards and a realistic transition period.
The Minister should not abandon the crackdown; he should get the implementation right.
Mortgage registration is entirely controlled by Ministry of Lands. Some MZOs have efficient Registrars while some dont. Other factors such as incomplete previous transactions in the system delay mortgage registration. Banks have no control over how quickly a Registrar of Titles
@centenary bank , this is absolutely frustrating and unacceptable!
How can a customer apply for a loan specifically to clear urgent goods, offer property as security, and then you take ages just to register a mortgage?
What makes it worse is that instead of having an efficient working relationship with the Ministry of Lands, everything seems to move through brokers and endless processes. Meanwhile, the customer is forced to look for expensive private moneylenders simply because the bank cannot process the security fast enough.
What is the purpose of applying for a bank loan if the customer must first borrow elsewhere while waiting for the bank?
This kind of delay can destroy businesses. Shameful and deeply disappointing!
