🇾🇪🇸🇦|Dammam Is Not a Border Town. It Is the Heart of Saudi Oil. And Yemen Just Reached It. Dammam is not a village near the Yemeni border. It is not a military outpost in the south. It is not a frontline position. It is the capital of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. It is where Saudi Aramco is headquartered. It is a few kilometers from Dhahran, Ras Tanura, Abqaiq, and the Ghawar oil field, the largest conventional oil field on earth. It is the oil heartland of the kingdom. It is the cash register of the Saudi state. And Yemen just hit it. 💥 From Sana'a to Dammam is over 1,200 kilometers. That is not a missile fired from the border. That is a missile that crossed the entire Arabian Peninsula. That is a message. The Saudi regime has spent twelve years bombing Yemen. It has hit schools. It has hit markets. It has hit hospitals. It has hit weddings. It has hit funerals. It has hit 1,200 mosques. It has killed 150,000 people. It has blockaded the country. It has starved millions. And it thought it could do all of this without cost. It thought it could bomb Yemen forever. It thought Yemen could not reach back. Yemen just told them: we can reach anywhere. "Escalation with Escalation" Is Not a Slogan. It Is a Doctrine. Ansar Allah has said it repeatedly: "Blockade for blockade. Escalation for escalation." This is the third part of that equation. The first was the Bab al-Mandeb. Yemen closed the Red Sea to Saudi and Israeli shipping. The second was the oil infrastructure. Yanbu. Ras Tanura. Jizan. Najran. Ain Dar. Abqaiq. Riyadh. The Saudi oil economy is bleeding. The third is the deep interior. Dammam. The Eastern Province. The heart of Aramco. The place the Saudis thought was safe. Each escalation is a response to a Saudi escalation. Saudi Arabia bombs Yemen. Yemen bombs Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia blockades Yemen. Yemen blockades Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia hits civilian infrastructure. Yemen hits oil infrastructure. The difference is that Yemen is winning. And Saudi Arabia is not.

Double standards destroy the credibility of every country that indulges in this addictive practice. US, UK, France, Germany are leaders in selectivity and international law à la carte. Maybe they do not see it, but the world perceives them as morally bankrupt.

A man in my native city of Lutsk in Western Ukraine was threatening a press gangster with a gun while trying to escape the forced mobilization for the war. There are many cases of men who go to jail in order to avoid mobilization.

From 2019: Message from a Venezuelan man in the mountaintop community of (Urbanismo) Ciudad Mariche. Excerpts include: "We are Venezuelan people, we are not the government. We are poor people, but we are proud, we have dignity. We are, at this moment, fighting against Imperialism. Against rich people that want our country, that want us as slaves. That want our oil, our water. But we will win. Today, it's Venezuela. Yesterday, Palestine, Syria, Libya... And in this part of the world its Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua... Imperialism is our common enemy. We're asking you for your solidarity, your compassion, for our people, our families. We're not starving. We have many general problems, but not starving. We're learning how to prepare food differently, but this is not a humanitarian crisis. The rich people, and the governments of the United States and other nations, want to tell everybody that we are starving, we are dying in the streets, we are being oppressed by our government. But we've never been more free than now, in spite of all the problems we do have. There are things that could be better. But we are sure that before it was worse, before we were treated like nothing, we were treated only as workers, that was it. Say to your governments, this isn't a fight against Maduro, this is a fight against a people that are trying to be free." odysee.com/@EvaKareneBartlet…

Budget 2024 is out and it delivered tax cuts as promised in the election campaign. It was funded with spending cuts and increased borrowing. The spending relative to GDP is useful to understand. See thread below for the high level numbers.

Decisions of the International Court of Justice must be observed by all UN member states. Otherwise we have no international rule of law. Yet, some Western countries seem to think they can flout the ICJ's provisional measures in total impunity.
