🏆 Best Veteran of the 2026 Season: Primož Roglič 🇸🇮
For me, there can only be one winner here: Primož Roglič!
At 36, Roglič may no longer be the rider he was at his peak, but his end to the 2026 season was genuinely impressive.
He finished second overall at the Vuelta a España, proving that he can still compete at the highest level. Even if Tadej Pogačar didn’t abandon the race, Roglič would have finished third, ahead of established names such as Felix Gall, Richard Carapaz, Sepp Kuss and Oscar Onley.
That alone shows that Roglič still has plenty of quality and remains a strong contender in major stage races.
He then went on to become European time trial champion. It's fair to acknowledge that Remco Evenepoel was absent, and that the course suited Roglič's characteristics. Nevertheless, he still had to deliver the performance, and he did exactly that.
He may not be at his absolute peak anymore, but Roglič has proved that he still has what it takes to compete and win at the highest level.
For me, he's the clear choice as the best veteran of the 2026 season. 👏

-¿Qué pasará con Roglic? El esloveno (este mes cumple 37 años) acabó contrato con el Red Bull y, por ahora, no tiene equipo pero sí ofertas

Riders issue a statement as the peloton stages a protest ahead of Il Lombardia 🚴
Today is going to be a long day ... will there be a decision or will the wait continue? Selfishly, I would want Roglič to keep racing forever. Or, to bargain, stay in sport – I'll instantly become interested in whatever he chooses next 😅 – and keep inspiring us ❤️ (1/n)
For him, what I'm really hoping is that he has the options he deserves: an offer from a team that will trust him, support him fully, and let him race on his own terms 🍀 I would hate it if he ends his career because the right options to continue aren't there 😢 (2/n)

Dear @rogla, a chapter ends and we hold our breaths. Your fans are selfishly hoping for this to never end, but more importantly MOST cycling fans are clamoring for your story to continue.
You don't owe us, but cycling owes you, and cycling will be better with you, always ♥️

As riders, we stand united against the unnecessary risk our lives are being subjected to.
This week alone, there were multiple incidents of vehicles on race courses. Two riders crashed when they hit a motorbike who was driving the wrong way on the race route. Luckily both escaped with cuts and bruises, it could have been so much worse.
This summer, a life was tragically lost to exactly this kind of failure. We will not stand for this any longer.
Riders race at high speed with little protection, and we depend on the UCI and race organisers to secure the roads. That responsibility is not being met.
We are calling for the UCI and race organisers to take accountability and act. That means a serious, open conversation between riders, race organisers and the UCI resulting in concrete changes to how race routes are secured and managed.
After five minutes, we raced as normal. We did not want to affect the race, only to show what riders can do when we stand as one.
We love this sport. We respect the race organisers.
We want to race hard and put on a show for our fans.
However most importantly we want to come home safe to our loved ones.
