I’ve now been tracking cyber crime & threat landscape for ~9y, and IMHO the emergence of “access-as-a-service” is by far the single thing that has had the most far-reaching impact. It’s enabled threat actors to specialize and to scale.
Replying to @smoothimpact
#Ransomware and access-as-a-service remained our top threat to most organisations in 2022, with groups displaying an increasingly fractured and fluid nature while continuing to chase the 💰.

"The problem, which Irritating STEM Bros™ don’t understand – or more likely don’t want to acknowledge – is that our modern categories of ‘science’, ‘religion’, and ‘magic’ do not map in any meaningful way onto the medieval period." - @hagenilda forbiddenhistories.com/jo-ed…
Even if machine learning and data sciences would not prove to be as useful for everything as it is hyped to be now, it will be the main subject to follow because all the world is putting their eggs in that basket
I just recently learned about the first Extreme Programming project. It was a rewrite in Smalltalk to replace some legacy systems in COBOL. It went live, but reverted back to COBOL a couple of years later by other people. buff.ly/2UUZMvG

$ create-react-app my-react-app $ cd my-react-app $ cloc . Before you even open a text editor, your project contains 1.5 million lines of code. Most of it contributed by volunteers and enthusiasts. No formal review or release process. This is 'normal' in modern web development.

We made a book! It's called ZACH-LIKE, and it's filled with design documents from all of our games (including the ones we never finished), and it's 400 pages long. If you're interested, here's a link to the Kickstarter: kickstarter.com/projects/181…
