Another reason I like this so much is my kids get to benefit from nepotism with friends in high places cos that’s part of my plan for them.
Because Nepotism>>>

When we say "ẹsẹ kan aye, ẹsẹ kan ọrun" in Yoruba, our version of "to have one foot in the grave" , we understand hyperbole and idiomatic expressions, but all of a sudden we don't understand what a woman means when she says pregnancy felt like a death sentence TO HER

When I tell people that nothing motivates me, they think I’m lying.
But honestly, I don’t experience motivation the way people seem to describe it.
For me, inspiration comes in bursts.
One day, I wake up with a thousand ideas, plans and things I want to do. I feel excited about the possibilities. I can see the vision so clearly, and I want to get started on everything at once.
Then, just as quickly as it came, the feeling disappears.
And I wait for the next burst.
It’s a cycle I’ve come to recognise about myself. I can be incredibly inspired one moment and completely indifferent the next. The ideas are there, the possibilities are there, but the internal drive to pursue them doesn’t always stay.
What has helped me more than anything is stability and structure.
Having routines, commitments and things I have to show up for, regardless of how I feel, has taught me that I cannot build my life around waiting to feel inspired.
I need systems that work even when the excitement is gone.
I’m learning that consistency doesn’t always look like being driven, ambitious or hungry for more. Sometimes, it looks like doing what needs to be done without the emotional high that made you want to do it in the first place.
I still love those bursts of inspiration. They are exciting, and they remind me of all the things I could do.

Today's stupidity on the TL re: Pregnancy reminded me of the quote Prof Awoleke used in his slide on maternity mortality some 11 years ago.
"I AM GOING TO THE SEA TO FETCH A NEW BABY.
THE JOURNEY IS DANGEROUS AND I MAY NOT RETURN." - Tanzanian Women.

Male doctors on this app will tweet irresponsible things about women’s health under the guise of “education.”
Banger boys and idiots will piggyback off said tweets, using it as a launching pad for misogyny and misinformation.
Such irresponsible and unethical behavior.
