Interesting interview about our FTA with Europe. LNP politics at the expense of the national interest. politico.com/news/2026/10/29…

Quick breakdown since upgrading from my diesel 2009 ford ranger to the EV Misso as a work truck (still waiting for the canopy from Korea though) My old Ranger used to use $15/100km so at $3/L that’s $45 per 100km My Musso uses 23kwh per 100km and at home charging I pay 30c/kwh so roughly $7/100km So it costs 1/7th of the Ranger to run, I also get free servicing for 3 years (even though there’s bugger all to actually service) AND fir long term use there’s less than 1/5th of the Rangers moving parts across the car. It’s literally better in every way and this is just the first model just wait 5 years. Anyone that doesn’t thing EV’s are the future doesn’t understand the engineering or maths behind them

Thread: Each week I run a simulation of Australia’s main electricity grid using rescaled generation data to show that it can get very close to 100% renewable electricity with 24GW/120GWh of storage (5 hrs at av demand) Results: Last week: 100.0% RE Last 270 weeks: 98.5% RE (1/5)

Goes to show just how much of a delusional world many find themselves stuck in, denying the irrepressible rise of renewables, when this is the truth. How do you like them apples?
The price of electricity in Victoria’s state grid was lower than every other major economy for the first nine months of 2026, according to Rystad Energy. This will be devastating news for those who insist the exact opposite is happening.

Some people are so awesome it makes you cry. I'd love to live in a world where all our perceived differences and petty arguments were settled with music instead of violence and killing. And sorry ... I don't know who these musicians are.

Good morning with good news: Australia's main grid Q3 2026 gas power fell 34% to 2000 level. Why? Battery supply about tripled, while renewables set new record of 44.3%, up from 41.8%. Small solar rose enough to match itself the grid's 1.3% growth! bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Giant ‘heat storms’ are scorching the Earth. This is the story of the biggest one on record. Supersized heat waves used to be rare. No longer. A Reuters data-driven examination of global temperatures reveals the emergence of what we call ‘heat storms.’ They now swarm the planet, upending life around the world from Texas to Ivory Coast to Poland. To continue calling such sprawling phenomena “heat waves” would be like calling a monsoon a rain shower. reuters.com/investigates/spe…

Oh dear, Jason cracks the shits and blocks just when it gets interesting. Now he blames the journalist. 🤣
He didn't claim they were "facts". The fact that those points were reported is most definitely a "fact". You don't do logic do you.

Another masterclass in American decline under Donald Trump. After 80 years as the Gulf’s security guarantor, Washington is now telling its allies to defend themselves. Trump envoy Tom Barrack calls it “realignment”, apparently because “strategic retreat” sounds rather less impressive. The world’s former superpower can no longer guarantee the security arrangements that helped underpin its global influence. Remarkable. Trump promised to make America great again. Instead, he is giving its allies compelling reasons to make America irrelevant.
BREAKING: The U.S. is now preparing to completely abandon Gulf countries, as Trump envoy Tom Barrack directly warns Gulf allies that Washington can no longer guarantee their security indefinitely, telling regional officials in Doha that they must take responsibility for their own defense, signalling the end of the U.S. security umbrella in the Middle East, per the Wall Street Journal. Barrack said the 80-year-old U.S. security-for-oil arrangement is no longer sustainable, pointing to regional defense partnerships as the way forward. The warning comes as Gulf states face Iranian strikes on U.S. military infrastructure and growing uncertainty over Washington’s future military commitment to the region.

DATA and FACTS are the natural enemies of misinformation merchants. 📊⚡ Of course, facts won't change every mind. Not when fossil-fuel cult loyalty, political tribalism and vested interests matter more than evidence. Some people aren't interested in the truth. They're too invested in defending their narrative. But that's precisely why we keep putting the facts out there. Not to convince those profiting from the lies, but to expose their bullshit for everyone else to see. You can't reason someone out of a position they refuse to reason about. But you can stop their misinformation going unchallenged. Facts don't need a political allegiance. Just an audience willing to think. ⚡
🚨 AUSTRALIA'S RENEWABLE ENERGY DISASTER: WHOLESALE POWER PRICES COLLAPSED 47%! ⚡😂 Someone better check on Matt Canavan and Sky News. The numbers aren't following the script! Australia's average wholesale electricity price has plunged from $140/MWh to just $74/MWh, the lowest June-quarter average since 2020. And here's where it gets deliciously inconvenient for the anti-renewables brigade: ☀️ Renewables supplied a record 42.1% of electricity. 💨 Wind generation jumped 20%. 🔋 Batteries increasingly shifted cheap daytime electricity into the expensive evening peak. 🔥 Gas generation fell around 30%. 📉 Extreme wholesale price events collapsed from 66 to just 3. More renewables. More batteries. Less gas. Cheaper wholesale electricity. Now, lower gas prices also helped, and wholesale prices aren't the same as household bills. But the tired argument that renewables inevitably send electricity prices through the roof is looking increasingly ridiculous. Meanwhile, Australia's proposed nuclear reactors are still waiting for their first shovel, let alone their first kilowatt-hour. Solar, wind and batteries aren't waiting for permission to disrupt the energy market. They're already doing it. The energy transition isn't a theoretical debate anymore. It's showing up in the data. And the fossil-fuel cheer squad is running out of excuses and their crocodile tears. ⚡🇦🇺 #SWB #Renewables #BatteryStorage #EnergyTransition #Australia #Bettrification

Australia is one of only two economies in the world with triple A credit ratings, with both the jobless rate and inflation below 5% and government debt below 19% of GDP. The other is Switzerland. Australia is the only triple-A economy with interest rates in the optimum band of 3.75% to 5% and wealth per adult above $865,000. Yet the media companies which happily supported the re-election of the disastrous former Coalition are now mercilessly attacking Labor.
