I'm an SDLP member & representative, whose family were harassed & murdered by loyalist paramilitaries, and I'm now being told that my party is aligning itself with 'extreme voices in loyalism.' This is embarrassing nonsense which no-one believes and which should be deleted.
The state was designed to keep a nationalist from becoming First Minister. History changed in 2024 when Michelle O’Neill took office. The SDLP’s proposal to abolish the First Minister title aligns them with extreme voices in loyalism and unionism.

A record 6,495 applicants on housing list in @dcsdcouncil, per capita we have 🔴 longest waiting list across north 🔵 highest rate of housing stress 🟢 most people with homeless status This is a growing crisis and it is simply unacceptable that Stormont won't fund more homes 😞

Good to see @SDLPlive making common sense proposals in Stormont to tackle our housing crisis Rent controls across private rental sector will provide comfort to tens of thousands of people While a moratorium on sale of social homes will help protect the existing housing stock

The DUP’s moral standard cannot be the baseline for this place. Ministers were elected to serve people and improve lives, not to coast through office without accountability.

The capture and detention of civilians and vessels as part of the Global Sumud flotilla breaches international law. Israel is again placing an embargo against peaceful humanitarian missions carrying food and critical aid to Gaza. Governments across Europe must take a stand.

Stormont is back, but the Executive is comatose. That’s why today, the SDLP Opposition have set out six clear tests, tests that any government worth its salt should be able to meet. If they can’t, it proves what we all know, this Executive is failing Northern Ireland.

55 years ago today, the SDLP was founded. From the very start, we stood for civil rights, social justice, anti-sectarian politics and unity by consent. Join us for the next chapter.

The SDLP stands with bereaved families. The A5 must be delivered. Today's ruling exposes failure at the top and this delay could cost lives. The Executive must act now. The SDLP are calling for emergency legislation to deliver the A5.

Bad day for #Derry and wider north west as judge rules against development of A5 road to Dublin. We could be doing with safer & faster journeys to the capital. – at Alicante, Spain
