Happy that of the 30 finalists and semi-finalists for the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, our @LSU @ManshipSchool Cold Case series was the only 1 written by students. Congrats to @remroc15, @LizRyanColdCase & @Laranicholson_ for standing right there with the pros!
This year nearly 170 pieces were nominated for the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting. We announced the 6 finalists yesterday. Here are the 24 additional semi-finalists, which the judges recognized for their high quality and impact: goldsmithawards.org/semi-fin…

Two-time @LSU journalism alum Dr. Alfred Delahaye (‘49, ‘51) was an inspiring journalist, teacher & mentor. His impact on journalism both in the field & the classroom was tremendous.
We mourn his passing, honor his legacy and extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones.
Another big loss: Alfred Delahaye, legendary Nicholls journalism prof and a member of @LSU @ManshipSchool Hall of Fame, dies at 92 houmatoday.com/story/news/20…

TEASE TIPS:
* don't just say you'll have "the story" or "the details" (viewers already expect that)
* instead, give a specific compelling reason to watch
* but don't give away the story
* don't forget to use great video/sound
* avoid starting with "coming up"

Y’all know Louisiana has unique words. These first responders from New York are in the Boot to help out after Ida. They tried to pronounce words like Tchoupitoulas, Natchitoches and Tchefunte. Hammond Police posted this on Facebook. 😂

Today's graphic on Hurricane Ida. Resources are limited right now so this map in no way shows all the damage from this beast. Will surely have more graphics soon, but relocating tomorrow so I can get power, internet, and better phone connections. Follow @NOLAnews for latest.
