And I think the result surprised even me: on new Telugu Wikipedia pages it beats every open base model under 1B that we tested, including nanochat-telugu-560M, which is twice its size.

నిజమే, గోదావరి ఆదిలాబాద్, కరీంనగర్, వరంగల్, ఖమ్మం జిల్లాల్లో కూడా ప్రవహిస్తుంది. కానీ తూర్పు గోదావరి, పశ్చిమ గోదావరి అని కేవలం ఈ రెండింటినే ఎందుకు అంటారంటే దానికి కారణం పేరు కాదు, నది అక్కడ చేసే పని.
1. అసలు గోదావరి జిల్లా ఒక్కటే:
బ్రిటిష్ టైంలో గోదావరి జిల్లా అని ఒక్క జిల్లానే ఉండేది. 1925 లో దాన్ని రెండుగా విడగొట్టి తూర్పు గోదావరి, పశ్చిమ గోదావరి అని పెట్టారు.
2. డెల్టా ఇక్కడే ఏర్పడుతుంది:
ఆదిలాబాద్, కరీంనగర్ లలో గోదావరి ఒకే పాయగా పారుతుంది. కానీ రాజమండ్రి దగ్గరికి వచ్చేసరికి గోదావరి రెండు పాయలుగా చీలిపోతుంది - గౌతమి గోదావరి, వశిష్ఠ గోదావరి అని.
ఈ రెండు పాయల మధ్య ఏర్పడిన భూభాగమే గోదావరి డెల్టా. ఈ డెల్టా మొత్తం ఈ రెండు జిల్లాల్లోనే ఉంటుంది. కాబట్టి వీటికి గోదావరి జిల్లాలు అనే పేరు స్థిరపడిపోయింది.
3. జీవనం గోదావరితోనే:
పైన జిల్లాల్లో గోదావరి ప్రవహించినా, అక్కడి వ్యవసాయం, సంస్కృతి కేవలం గోదావరితోనే ముడిపడి ఉండవు. కానీ ఈ రెండు జిల్లాల్లో ప్రతి పొలం, ప్రతి ఊరు, ప్రతి పండుగ గోదావరి డెల్టా మీదనే ఆధారపడి ఉంటుంది.
సింపుల్ గా చెప్పాలంటే - గోదావరి అన్ని జిల్లాల గుండా వెళ్తుంది, కానీ గోదావరి జిల్లాలు అంటే గోదావరి డెల్టా జిల్లాలు అని అర్థం.
