the actress who played the pregnant woman whose baby delivery was helped by liu zhengliang shared her story of filming with #XiaoZhan in #SmallTownRemedy and highly praised him ❤️ "during filming, i met xiao laoshi for the first time in the director's monitor studio. after three days of working together, i really felt that his good looks were probably the remarkable trait of him that's least worth mentioning! because i had to act in pain and hold xiao laoshi, i was always afraid of hurting him. every time (director) yelled "cut," i would ask him if it hurt, and he would always reassure me that it was okay. in the scene where we got off the train, because we didn't have time to put on our coats, and jinzhou in january was really cold, he had a pair of crab claw hand warmers. every time (director) yelled "cut" and we got back on the train, he would take one out of his coat pocket and give it to me to keep warm. i was at most a lead in one segment this time, and my screen time wasn't much different from a featured extra. he could have easily ignored me, but he completely lacked the stereotypical actor hierarchy often seen in the industry. during the scene where i was on the stretcher, he was so careful not to crush me, pushing the stretcher incredibly fast. we did it back and forth over and over again. in the ambulance delivery scene, after opening the car door, the camera zoomed in on him holding the baby. at that moment, i was truly moved by his acting up close. his sincerity and complex layers were incredible. i've always felt that the most precious and rare talent an actor can possess is: "i know how to act, but i don't just want to act for you; i'm willing to sincerely believe and feel, using my body to bring the character to life." i truly saw that in his eyes." 🥹❤️
