Reform of the NI Assembly within this UK is definitely required, but its design by independents should be fair, and not have any politically partisan overtones and objectives. Specifics should be based upon the terms of the Belfast Agreement.
MLA numbers should be reduced from 90 to 60 with equivalent 33% reduction in supplementary staff.
Included in such reform should be a new OATH taken by all MLAs and staff to swear "to dedicate their efforts to the well-being of the Northern Irish people, protect the Basic Law, and fulfil their duties conscientiously."
