“Physically, yes,” he replies, brushing her hair behind her ear slowly, then fingers trace her face down to her chin. “Sometimes it’s deeper than a gunshot as we both know.”
His eyes close as he breathes her in. His hands find the curves of her waist, gently and carefully pulling her up against him. “Can I?” He asks, lips brushing hers but still not going in for a kiss until he hears the words. “Please.”
He hums, hands settling on her lips, his lips grazing against the skin of her neck. “Too much.” A kiss, and he looks up. “Are you all right?”

“Make sure to do it nice and slow.” His gaze drops down to her lips, then back into her eyes, smirk widening. “Really take your time. I wouldn’t want it to end too fast.”

I like to think my charm is about my never-ending misery. Can’t risk getting better and scaring off the ladies.
