What this convo taught me is that everyone identifies with the abuser but no one ever spares even a single thought for the victims. Aren't the victims marginalized too ? Poor too ? What about them ? Their struggle ? Their right to a fair trial ?

they see the healthcare industry as systemic violence against poor people (and they’re right), but they don’t see rape as systemic violence against women bc they either don’t view women as fully human or they see rape as just a normal, inevitable part of life.

Davis is perfectly clear in WRC that while the myth of the "black rapist" was invoked w great success as a general defense of the practice of lynching, the large majority of actual lynchings did not involve accusations of rape.
You are peddling the very myth that she criticizes.

Feminists were mocked endlessly in the mid 2010s for talking about rape culture and now it’s just constant news stories about our govt & laws shielding sexual predators. Feminists were right all along

"they're censoring taboo sexuality!!!" and it's rape, the cornerstone upon which the entire regime of cisheteropatriarchy is built

"Taking rape from the realm of 'the sexual,' placing it in the realm of 'the violent,' allows one to be against it without raising any questions about the extent to which the institution of heterosexuality has defined force as a normal part of [sex]."

Total Woman Victory Issue 3: Land, Labor, Liberation is OUT NOW! 🔗 below!
Land, Labor, Liberation is a revolutionary feminist theme that grounds Total Woman Victory in the material conditions of proletarian women in global class and national liberation struggles, especially in the Third World. It centers land as the site of conquest and resistance, labor as the terrain of exploitation and survival, and liberation as the political axis of freedom and autonomy. Female liberation is the revolutionary demand for the overturning of feudal and postmodern patriarchal rule, the destruction of female sex-class oppression, and the end of all imperialist domination.
Land, Labor, Liberation calls forth the fighting traditions of women who have risen against the simultaneous forces of imperialist accumulation, caste, colony, and male domination—and insists that freedom must be built from the ground up through collective feminist struggle.

Celebrities like Sabrina can commodify their sexuality on a massive scale while staying relatively insulated from the worst forms of exploitation. That doesn’t mean the system is empowering, it just means they’re at the top of a hierarchy that still exploits most women.

i think "the woke feminazis are trying to cancel thin feminine blonde women who like being submissive to men" is a million times more similar to conservative rhetoric than any feminist criticism of sabrina i've seen but 😹😹

All shade actually because any time he’s confronted with his misogyny (think Amber Heard & Blake Lively) he dismisses it as a non-issue. He has no right to speak on this subject at all. He desperately needs to unpack his misogyny. It’s shameful he’s the biggest “leftist” CC

The Minnesota shooter called himself pro-life. Left behind a hit list of abortion providers. Two lawmakers are dead. This is what “pro-life” has always meant: forced birth, then sanctioned violence.
They don’t protect life. They hunt dissent.

We need to talk about how this isn't even sex positivity anymore. It's explicitly coercive, implicitly tied to a heterosexual context, and the real message is that you need to be corrected if you find men's sexualized misogyny too offputting to be comfortable sleeping with them.
