Joining my first screen-writing group chat on Zoom tonight, as an absolute beginner. Already, though, I realise how useful it is to have written several novels before considering the technical challenge of adapting for the screen.
Have a look on Youtube at the film of my play 'The Day the Iron Works Closed', a true disaster story set in Millom in 1968. We filmed it at the Beggar's Theatre, Millom, in November 2022.
From June 1st 2024 the film of my play 'The Day the Iron Works Closed' will be available to view on Youtube.
I'm the world's worst website blogger. But there's an interesting new twist in my writing story, so check it out.

I'm investigating the possibility of doing a screen writing course, with a focus on my West Cumbrian crime fiction. It would be great to have a chat with other Cumbrian writers who are already on this road. I'm always willing to travel for a meeting.
I've been away from "Twitter" for a while long, and the link to Elon Musk makes me want to ditch it for good. Can anyone give me a good reason for sticking with it?
After much debate with myself I've kept the price of my ebooks at £2.99 on Kindle - less than the price of a decent coffee. I know it costs very little to upload an ebook, but it costs a lot longer in time and effort to plan, write and edit.
Better news...I'm planning a series of video readings from my nine West Cumbrian novels, filmed in their respective settings. What a cool idea, but we'll need weather like this.
My to-do list today? Continue my appeal against a parking fine from Northern Rail: their advertised payment app. had been scammed, it stole our credit card details and didn't pay the charge. And they have the nerve to charge me £50? Unbelievable.
Exciting things are happening! A London-based media lawyer is now representing me in a search for interest in adapting my novels for tv. Will it work? Who knows, but the idea is enthralling. And I'm back on LinkedIn, as 'Writer, re-born' - check it out.
It’s years since I posted on ‘Twitter’. I felt as if I’d retired, but all my books are still out there, they are still selling and being read, and my play ‘The Day Iron Works Closed’ had a great reception. Now I’m thinking about film and tv - so maybe it’s time to re-engage.

Here's a cheeky little sea shanty ⚓️🎶(an adaptation of #Wellerman) about #SuellaBraverman - we were sad to see her go, because we had to make this much quicker than we anticipated...

Congratulations to my friend @ruth_sutton on being shortlisted in the fiction category of Lakeland Book of the Year. Her novels based in West Cumbria drawing on real events are proper page turners. Good luck Ruth!

Jesus Christ this is embarrassing. She is sharing a doctored photo of Starmer sitting next to Frank Dobson - who died pre pandemic in 2019. My god - The absolute shambles of it.
We are expected to believe that a curry and beers arrived for about 30 people at 10pm, and this was a break for a work meeting?
No reasonable person believes Labours story, so why do Durham police and what were they told?
