But there are issues. There is widespread ignorance of the political realities in The West, including among the book-writing 'PHD-Classes'.

Brilliant gig at the Barrowland in Glasgow tonight. Brooke Combe's acoustic set was exceptional-she is an incredible talent and is going places. Jalen Ngonda's headline set also ace..again an exceptional talent. We both loved this show! @brookecombe

2/2 What shocked me most was that my fellow passengers were clearly expecting to be mistreated in this way, and were accustomed to it. I disembarked 50 yards from the terminal and was shouted at by a woman for not walking within some invisible lines on the tarmac.

Lady in red does not want the UK to pay for slavery reparations.
Except, until 2015, British taxpayers were still servicing debt incurred to compensate slave owners.
Apparently, compensating slave owners is acceptable, but reparations for the descendants of the people they enslaved are not 🤷♂️

Gent in purple, "State pensioners who have contributed their whole lives are on a lot less than minimum wage"
"I'm very lucky to have a small German pension, and believe me, it's a lot more than what we pay in this country"
"Most of western Europe their pensions are much higher than the state pension in this country"
"I'm lucky I get a pension from the military"
"But people on the basic state pension, I reall feel sorry for them"
My view:
The full new State Pension is roughly £12,548 a year.
Someone working 37.5 hours a week on the £12.71 minimum wage earns about £24,785 before tax.
That puts the full new State Pension at barely half a full-time minimum-wage salary.
Government figures show that 12% of pensioner families received their income entirely from the State Pension and other state benefits in 2024/25.
That same year, around 1.7 million pensioners — one in seven — were living in relative poverty after housing costs.
A better pension means being able to heat your home, eat properly and see friends without calculating what you’ll have to go without afterwards.
It also means money spent in the communities where pensioners live.
After a lifetime of working, caring and contributing, financial security should be something people can expect.

Israel has killed over 22,000 children in Gaza. These aren't terrorists. We're talking about kids.
Most Americans are so absolutely horrified and disgusted that our tax dollars, by the billions go to that country every single year.
That our military-produced weapons and ammunition have been used to murder kids, create over 70,000 orphans, thousands of children's with amputated arms and legs.

The demonstrators have arrived at the terminal point of the rally today - Place de la Nation.
It’s 6:35 pm here and the police declared yesterday that the demonstrators must disperse at 7 pm
There is no way that they will do so voluntarily, so police seem to be preparing to use force.

Valentyna, the woman who exposed a secret Azov detention facility near Kyiv, is explaining to journalists in court why she went there in the first place.
She went there to save a man's life.
She was asked to help by a woman named Tetiana, who has also been arrested (!).
The man was in critical condition and desperately needed medical attention. He had recently undergone surgery. He had a stoma — part of his intestine had been surgically brought out through an opening in his abdomen. On top of that, he was suffering from five other serious medical conditions.
And despite all this, he was being held there against his will, by force.
Valentyna went there as a medical professional, trying to rescue a man who urgently needed help. She had no idea the place was an alleged secret Azov detention facility.
And now, because this involves the untouchable, "elite" Azov, she is the one they are going to crucify. She is the one they will persecute. She is the one they will try to blame for everything.
Not the people who held men captive by force. Not the people who were beating them. Not those responsible for what happened inside that facility.
No. The woman who came to help a seriously ill man is the one being treated as the criminal.
Do you understand the sheer perversity of this?
