At my Town Hall last night in Torrington, a mother told me her story in tears.
She works hard and follows the rules, but our state has gotten so expensive that sheās had to take a third job just to make ends meet. She is an immigrant to our country, loves Connecticut, and always believed that if you work hard and follow the rules, you could get by in this state.
In recent years, thatās changed. After eight years of Gov. Lamont, our state has become so unaffordable that some people have to work three jobs just to get by.
It doesnāt have to be this way. As governor, Iāll cut her taxes by thousands of dollars, reduce her electric bills by 20 percent, bring good-paying jobs back to our state, andāmost importantlyācreate hope and opportunity for families like hers and yours.
She deserves better. Our state deserves better. We can have better.
You wonāt want to miss this.
Tune in tomorrow night for the first Connecticut Gubernatorial Debate, hosted by @insider_ct and @WFSBnews:

Early Voting is now open, so why wait to deliver the change Connecticut needs?
Find your polling place: portal.ct.gov/sots/election-ā¦
You can vote early from 10am to 6pm until November 1st. Extended hours are available from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday 10/27 and Thursday 10/29.
Ned Lamont had a reserved seat at Sundayās CONECT gubernatorial candidate forum.
He never showed. I did, and answered tough questions from faith leaders on criminal justice, housing, immigration, and healthcare.
As governor, Iāll always show up, and Iāll always bring people together to deliver the positive change our state needs.
Gov. Lamont is denying tens of millions of free educational dollars for low and moderate income school kids to get educational support, completely free of cost to Connecticut taxpayers.
Itās only less surprising when you consider test scores have fallen under Lamont, the black-white achievement gap grew to among the highest in the nation, and heās allowed school districts to graduate high school students that never were taught how to read.
We need an accountable leader as governor for the next generation. Every kid, regardless of zip code, can succeed. Iāll be their governor.
š REASONS TO RETIRE LAMONT
Reason 7ļøā£: Heās hiding from voters!
Lamont has been avoiding tough questions from reporters and refuses to debate or share a stage with me before early votingāwaiting until thousands of ballots have already been cast.
Connecticut needs leadership that is responsive, unafraid to tackle the issues facing our families, and willing to take accountability for its time in office.
As governor, Iāll bring people together to deliver the positive change our state needs.
Amy and I were excited to vote today on the first day of Early Voting in Connecticut. We hope you will do the same!
Polls are open from 10am to 6pm until Sun., November 1. Extended hours are available from 8am to 8pm on Tues., October 27, and Thurs., October 29.

We are working hard every day to bring the positive change that Connecticutās families, businesses, and residents desperately need. Letās do this together, starting tomorrow.
š REASONS TO RETIRE LAMONT
REASON 6ļøā£: Lamontās economy is among the weakest in the nation, the highest unemployment rate, stagnant job growth, and barriers that keep young people from entering the workforce.
This crisis was entirely avoidable, but Lamontās policies have driven businesses, jobs, and opportunity out of the state.
With new leadership, we can create economic growth and affordability for all.

Just last year, Ned Lamont credited me with bipartisan leadership, calling me reasonable and anything but extreme.
Now that our campaign is a threat, heās changed his tune.
Lamont is trying to distract from his own record by lying about mine. Iām running for governor the same way Iāve always served: to bring people together and ensure bipartisan balance in our state.
āIām a Democrat and Iām voting for Ryan Fazio.ā
āI saw Ryan Fazio bring together Democrats and Republicans to expand health care access and crack down on the utilities.ā
āI voted for Ned Lamont, but heās changed. He raised taxes on families like mine.ā
After eight years, itās time for a change. Iāll cut taxes on middle-class families, bring people together, and create opportunity for all.
Iāll be live in studio tomorrow morning with Gary Byron on @talkofct, alongside my running mate, Matt Corey, from 8-10am. Set your dials to 103.3FM and start your Friday with us!
THE FAZIO JOBS PLAN: After eight years of Lamont, Connecticut has the highest unemployment rate in the country. Yesterday we unveiled a comprehensive plan to create jobs and bring industry back to our state.
ā”ļø Expand apprenticeship opportunities
ā”ļø Reform licensing and cut costs for workers
ā”ļø Incentivize capital investment
ā”ļø Reduce energy costs by 20%
ā”ļø Fully review and invest in our vocational education system
We cannot continue starving young people of the opportunity they desperately need. Connecticut has the third-most educated workforce in the nation, yet we struggle to retain them due to failed state policy.
As governor, Iāll roll out the red carpet for the men and women looking to work with their hands and build things in Connecticut. We will no longer accept the highest unemployment rate in the nation. We need leadership to open the path to the middle class again in this state.

When will Connecticut decide on the federal scholarship tax credit? Governor Lamont, what questions remain? Young minds canāt wait.

One party rule has not served this great state. CTās problems are fixable and the time to do that is NOW - at the polls.
Vote for common sense leadership on November 3.
Why wonāt Lamont debate before voting starts?
Lamont wonāt debate until voting starts. He isnāt answering the tough questions about his surfaced texts with Eversourceās CEO and the sweetheart deals heās given themāand heās not even being asked by the media in the first place. And he canāt explain why he raised your taxes by billions of dollars.
You deserve leaders who will debate in the open and accountability in a state that has become completely unaffordable.

HAPPENING NOW: Republican @ryanfazio laying out plan to get more blue-collar jobs filled:
- Greatly expand the cap on apprenticeships (where apprentices can be paid less)
- Cut licensing fees across the board
- Fully deduct factory expansions from corporate income tax
