One way to deepen the impact of your preaching is to assume that many within your congregation are wounded, doubting, disillusioned, and longing for some form of healing.
Carry that awareness with you to the pulpit, and ask God to give you words from on high.

In a culture of hustle and hurry, a long obedience in the same direction can feel like a hindrance to your advancement or growth.
However, nothing will grow the fruit of your leadership and character like a lifestyle of long suffering and slow consistent obedience.
Keep going!

Jesus didn't preach a gospel that said, "believe in me so that when you die you can enter into my kingdom.”
He preached, "believe in me so you can enter the kingdom now, which will continue after you die."

Voting Republican doesn’t make you a Christian.
Voting Democratic doesn’t make you a non-Christian.
Voting D doesn’t make you a Christian.
Voting R doesn’t make you a non-Christian.
What makes someone a Christian is faith in Jesus Christ, and expressing that faith in love.

Violence begins in the heart of man.
Long before acts of violence are committed, we allow hatred to breed in our souls. The work of Christ in us is to trade hate for love, for both friends and enemies. Let us be know by our love.
Lord, heal our nation.
