Jameis Winston embracing mentor role as Giants turn to J.J. McCarthy trib.al/qAOcFie
I'm not sure where this narrative is coming from.
John Harbaugh has been great to deal with from a media perspective. He mostly gives thoughtful and well-reasoned answers, mixes in anecdotes.
His practice access is mostly similar to every other Giants coach I have covered.
Replying to @rydunleavy
New York sports press is just trying to poison the well with Harbaugh to bully him into giving you all the access and deference you want.
This same account openly said they would try running him out of town.
You guys are all the absolute worst.
Tisch was at the NFL owners meetings this week, as #Giants chairman.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell asked about Steve Tisch—forced to divest his shares in the @Giants to his kids amid his involvement in the Epstein Files—being in the draft room, at camp, at these meetings: "I think we're comfortable with him participating as the Giants suggest."
Sure, that's another way to see it.

I think starting before the Bye gives them things to actually identify and work on during the Bye.
You don't wait until Wednesday team meeting to announce to the players you are sticking with the same QB.
J.J. McCarthy start before the bye is interesting.
The floor needs to be play well enough that no one is debating going back to Jameis vs. #Eagles.
Had to miss last night’s show because I was at NFL owners meeting
Tough one to miss when I hear @jokershawn37 say ‘I absolutely think er should trade for a RB’
NY Giants Rush xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1aJbdEadP…
I think they are going to start McCarthy …
But the other line of thinking is ….
Start Winston on a short leash vs one of best defensive minds in football. Let JJ’s confidence roll as he learns more. Start him after bye
If he implodes vs Texans, then the bye will be a debate about going back to Jameis in must-win vs Eagles
Replying to @rydunleavy
Depends what the plan is for Jameis. I don't think Jameis starts after the bye anyway. What's the sense of giving him an extra game. Makes no sense.
Russell Wilson’s perspective is interesting here because he was Jameis Winston’s teammate and now doubt feels that the leash was too short on him with #Giants last year
"I think that before you jump the bridge to J.J. McCarthy you may have to give Jameis Winston one more shot and one more look at it to make sure."
@DangeRussWilson on if the Giants should start Jameis Winston or J.J. McCarthy
Regarding Jalen Hurts, NFL exec Jeff Miller and CMO Dr Allen Sills say that no team medical staffs take order from GMs and coaches and it’s ‘nonsense’ to speculate on what shouldve been #Eagles
This is big news..
He was RB1 last game.
Guessing Skattebo/Tracy share carries this week #Giants
NFL power rankings: No. 5 through No. 19 is kind of a mess.
Big jump for #Steelers and #Packers
Big falls for #Giants and #Seahawks

‘We just have to be honest with ourselves in the film room. Understand and realize, being truthful, about what offense we want to be.”
#Giants want to run power. Their best offense the last 2 games is no-huddle tempo.
A QB controversy meets a crossroads nypost.com/2026/10/19/sports…
#Giants chose a RB by committee in 2024. Its not working right now and John Harbaugh is left wanting for ‘a Derrick Henry circumstance or a Saquon Barkley circumstance.’
Like rain on your wedding day.

Mike is picking J.J. McCarthy to start for #Giants on Sunday and I agree with his reasoning (you don't trade for him to sit him).
I have no doubt he will start after the bye.
I just wonder how much of that 4th quarter was fool's gold. We'll see what coaches decide.
Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) of ESPN and NFL Media told me earlier on YBYB that he expects the New York #Giants to name JJ McCarthy their starting QB for Sunday’s game in Houston:
J.J. McCarthy was electric in Q4.
But is that a sustainable change to #Giants offense? Snapping every 14.6 seconds, playing uptempo, throwing deep. Or was that all fake goods?
Harbaugh: "It hasn’t really proven to be sustainable. It’s one-dimensional."
