Called a Monday night pod to get a review in about this amazing @AzChike album, “No Rest For The Wicked”.
An album he spent 2 years working on after scrapping an album he initially made after “GNX”.
I breakdown why starting over was a decision that paid all the way off🎙️

REVIEW from a man who heard the album back in July.
We learn that AZ Chike scrapped a whole album to start fresh with Kendrick Lamar & Sounwave.
He spent 4 months in writing camp learning to lock into 1 core topic per song.
2 years in the making & every bit of effort paid off!

AZChike reportedly scrapped an entire album he made after his GNX moment and started over.
According to the Yadda Yadda Podcast, Chike was told the project was solid, but it didn’t reveal anything new about him. That led to months in a writers bootcamp with Kendrick Lamar, Sounwave and the pgLang camp, where he was pushed to dig deeper and become more intentional with his writing.
That process eventually became No Rest For The Wicked. 🔥

Kendrick Lamar had AZ Chike locked in the studio for 3-4 months for a writing camp. You can tell that paid off on his album because it’s incredible! 💿🔥

I also discussed the irresponsibility a lot of media heads participated in, by constantly discussing a Kendrick feature that was never on the album to begin with.
The constant rumors and discussion felt like they were trying to step on AZ Chike’s moment and I didn’t like that🎙️

Took time to address this clip on the pod between @bagfuel & @gmalone & @PROBLEM354, mainly because I’m annoyed with the mentality Esso displayed in his argument.
Which is this belief that Hip-Hop isn’t the same without Drake on top. Nobody is bigger than the program🎙️

I said this album would be the one 3 days after it dropped in 2025.
And two days ago, I stood on it @Wale 🫡 🏆
“When it comes to human emotions & writing about those experiences in-depth, @Wale is the best of his generation”
We discussed my favorite album to drop this weekend, #everythingisalot
And explain why this is going to be the album where folks finally give Wale his due 🎙️

Esso asks Glasses Malone if the Drake & Kendrick Lamar battle hurt hip hop. They both disagree 👀
