The Federal Government has paid ₦1.23 trillion out of the ₦3.3 trillion debt owed to power generation companies (GenCos), as part of efforts to address liquidity challenges affecting gas supply for electricity generation. Minister of Power Joseph Tegbe disclosed the payment after Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
The government also plans to expand Nigeria’s electricity transmission capacity from 5,000MW to approximately 19,000MW through targeted investments in grid infrastructure. The measures are aimed at easing gas supply constraints, strengthening grid resilience and improving the capacity of the power sector to deliver electricity.

To every founder, engineer, and dreamer gathered at the National Theatre in Lagos today for Moonshot by @TechCabal: you have built world-class companies in spite of policy, and I want to be the President who builds policy that works for you.
I will give young companies tax relief in their early years. I will also make the government your customer by digitising public services, budgeting, and procurement, and I will require every new development to be fibre-ready. You have proven what Nigerian talent can do alone. Imagine what it can do with a government on its side. -AA

I was delighted to join the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and other distinguished dignitaries at the inauguration of the state, local government and ward structures of the PBAT Door2Door Movement in Plateau State.
For me, the occasion was more than a formal inauguration; it was an important step towards building a stronger grassroots mobilisation network ahead of the 2027 general elections. The presentation of campaign vehicles and mobilisation materials to the movement’s executive committees further demonstrated our collective resolve to take the message of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda to every corner of the state.
I firmly believe that electoral success is built on strong structures, consistent engagement and the ability to connect directly with the people. This is why I consider grassroots mobilisation a critical component of our collective effort to secure President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
As I continue to contribute to this mission, I remain committed to strengthening our party’s structures, communicating its achievements and vision, and supporting initiatives that bring our message closer to the people.
For me, the journey to 2027 begins with the people, thrives on grassroots mobilisation and advances through collective commitment. The work continues!
