BMC has completed repairs to Compartment 2 of the Yewai Master Balancing Reservoir at the Pise-Panjrapur water complex. The compartment will be commissioned on Wednesday, October 28. As the process could affect water quality, residents in parts of Mumbai city, the eastern suburbs, and areas of Thane and Bhiwandi supplied by the BMC have been advised to boil and filter drinking water for the next seven days.

Almost every festive season there is an increase illness, and we assume it’s because of seasonal change. But that is not the case. And what about seasonal sales?
We have observed that expired food is being relabelled and sold at low prices during the sale festive seasons.
We don’t fall sick because of the seasonal change. But because of poor substandard foods that are sold in the festive sale season.

A couple simple rules a consumer can follow, says @Tukaram_IndIAS
1. Ask questions, don’t accept something as the norm.
2. Read the labels. Ensure what you’re consuming is safe.
3. Report issues to the FDA. There is a toll free number, we have put email ids of our offices in the public domain…but the easiest way would be to use the portal I’ve launched - complaints.mahafda.in/
We are using technology and AI tools to ensure complaints registered are resolved in 14 days. And as the commissioner I can observe it all live.
