Yesterday, I showed the highest risk groups for job displacement GLOBALLY, but what happens when we disaggregate the data and focus on the US only?ย  Which jobs and STATES are at high risk? Interestingly enoughโ€ฆ6 states are at the HIGHEST risk and 3-4 of those states are already rated as high poverty areas. High risk automation jobs with over 60% task exposure in the US will include legal assistants and paralegals, data entry keyers and transcriptionists, telemarketers, customer service representatives, and bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks. Medium risk automation jobs, with 30-50% task exposure, include insurance underwriters, market research analysts, technical writers, and CNC operators. Low risk automation jobs in the US, with under 20% task exposure, include healthcare providers such as surgeons, registered nurses, physical therapists, mental health counselors, and psychologists. This group also includes tradespeople such as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians, along with senior corporate executives and strategists. The low risk group is one of the reasons I believe everyone should learn a tradeโ€ฆ As shown in my second chart, approximately 30-35% of jobs across these high risk states could be lost by AI automation. Kentucky has a slightly higher risk of job displacement percentage compared to other high risk states at 680,000 jobs.ย  The second chart shows the potential total number of job losses per state. This raises an important questionโ€ฆ How would a potential 30-35% loss of jobs across states that already have high poverty rates impact the quality of life of individuals living in these communities? As stated earlier, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Alabama are a few of the states facing extremely high risks of AI job displacement that ALSO already have high official poverty rates. I have another model that shows these states are high crime areas.ย  Poverty isnโ€™t causal to crime, it has a correlation to it.ย ย  Predictions models would need to suggest the potential increase of crime and poverty due to job displacement. I will eventually cover job growth, education, salaries, and other projections, but I wanted to focus on potential job displacement first. What are your thoughts?. #ai #jobmarket #samglover_data

Iโ€™d like to see the data. Also, Iโ€™d like to add climate migration. Are we sensing a large wave coming? My fear is this: Iโ€™m a person of color. American nurse. Iโ€™ve seen how hospitals aggressively recruit foreign nurses. This hurts American nurses- low wages, less incentive to improve working conditions, and cultural / bullying issues from foreign nurses.
