Fire Weather is a must-read for anyone who, for better or worse, happens to be alive right now. @JohnVaillant is a writer hero of mine, and I’m grateful he chose this subject to apply his powers towards. penguinrandomhouse.com/books…

If you want to learn more about milky seas, I can’t recommend this article by @nijhuism enough. It is so well-written and reported, and is the deepest dive into this glowing subject I’ve yet read. Also, I was fortunate enough to be interviewed for it.

Bioluminescent bacteria can make the ocean glow. Sailors have noticed it for centuries, but now some are joining forces with scientists to study the science behind this “milky sea,” writes @samkeckscott for @hakaimagazine. hakaimagazine.com/features/a…

In 2010, @samkeckscott sailed into a milky sea, becoming one of the few living people known to have seen one. For @hakaimagazine, he explores one of the ocean's most mysterious phenomena: theatlantic.com/science/arch…

It’s the honor of a lifetime to have an essay published in @outsidemagazine. Thank you for reading and sharing!
Above the surface of the Red Sea, the crew of the Persephone battled crashing waves, a quick-tempered captain, and an ever-present fear of pirates. Below it, @samkeckscott fought his childhood demons, one breath at a time. [⭐️] trib.al/asn1liC
