DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 hit GPT-4 March 2026 intelligence scores. You can run this locally. The gap between cloud and on-device just collapsed again.

VisionPsy-Nano is 460M parameters and it beats models more than twice its size! This will unlock so many new use cases for local AI App running on consumer phones, looking forward to see some pop up!
Today we release VisionPsy-Nano: state-of-the-art vision-language models at 460M parameters, built to run on-device. It leads every model in its weight class on 16 of 17 benchmarks with the highest overall normalized score in its class, and it tops all four capability areas: document understanding and OCR, visual perception, reasoning, and instruction following. Open weights, Apache 2.0.

i just read the attack and it's actually crazy what happened, the tldr: - OpenAI was running a cyber eval on its own models two of them broke out of the sandbox they were supposed to be walled off in - they hacked into Hugging Face prod to steal the test answers, basically to cheat the eval - HF blue team tries to defend with a US lab's model, its guardrails get in the way - so they drop it and run an open weights Chinese model (GLM 5.2, Z.ai) to analyze the attack The model you can actually run and steer is the one that showed up when it mattered. that's the open source case, full stop.

Kimi K3 hit 3rd on ArtificalAnalysis, beating Opus 4.8. The China labs are shipping at the frontier now. No more "catching up".

An AI that can detect brainwaves to read thought and transcribe then is really crazy. And running on a 2G RAM only. I'm so glad to live in this era, so many banger things happening every day. (Would have liked the roman empire times though)
An AI that reads the words you are trying to say, straight from your brain, and writes them as text. No voice, no movement needed. For people who have lost the ability to speak, that changes everything. And nothing is more private than a thought. A system that decodes signals from your brain has no business running in someone else's cloud. It has to run on your own machine. That is exactly why BrainWhisperer runs fully on-device with QVAC.

I love using Obsidian @obsdmd , but I always wanted to actually talk to my vault, ask questions across my own notes and docs. I just didn't want to hand any of that to a cloud AI, I wanted it fully local. So I built this. It runs on a local model with @qvac , nothing ever leaves your machine. Ask a question, get an answer grounded in your own notes with clickable citations. Semantic search, related notes, and you can even fine-tune a small model on your own writing so it answers in your style.

I've been doing more tests to compare Qwen models capabilities versus Anthropic models Sonnet, Opus and Fable. For sure, Cloud frontier models have much better results But on a second though, comparing a multi trillions parameters models that needs 100s TB of RAM to run, versus something that I can run on my macbook pro, I'm still shocked by how the gap is reducing.
We benchmarked three @Alibaba_Qwen models, a 4B, a 9B, and a 35B MoE, running 100% on-device through the QVAC SDK. Same device (MacBook Pro M5 Max, 36 GB), same prompts, nothing left the machine. We chose models that can run on widely available consumer machines. Here is what we found ⬇️

Frontier AI gets most of the attentiont. On-device AI is what will actually reaches most people. Local AI still feels underrated. For now at least.
Frontier labs keep pushing the limit of what AI can do, and that matters. But the limit is not the problem most people have. Most people are not asking AI to do frontier things. They ask it to explain something, summarize a page, draft a message, answer a question. For that, a model small enough to run on the phone in your pocket is already enough. A few gigabytes, fully on-device, no account, no bill. Pushing the frontier and putting AI in everyone's hands are two different jobs. One is crowded. The other is wide open. QVAC builds for the second one. The AI most people actually need should run on the device they already own, not behind someone else's paywall.

AI & Pokemon are widely important skills indeed. Especially if building with Local AI
In our lecture of AI of this weekend the kids learned how to connect local #AI @qvac SDK and a JS based Pokemon Fan-Project. We built an AI Poke-trainer to learn about several tools. Imagine their future if they are learning Linux, git and AI on weekends. Kids deserve fun

I built a Claude Code skill for @ElevenLabs Text to speech, voice cloning, batch audio from markdown, sound effects — all from the terminal. One SKILL.md file. Open source.
