I've given up on Twitter; find me on the fediverse at https://xitter.cf/t.co/AJaFgSYt9y instead.

I'm glad to see that Digital Ocean now has a Sydney data centre (I assume it's a data centre and not a data center). I guess I'll be moving some stuff there. It's even got Spaces (object storage), which is what I was waiting for Linode to have in Sydney;… wikis.world/@samwilson/10942…

I love it when governments reorganise data and break old links. wikidata.org/wiki/Property_t… (I don't actually love it.) #CoolURIsDontChange

Green Square #library is amazing. Desks the right height, lots of natural light even though it's underground, and seemingly an awareness that people with laptops are not grubby freeloaders. I've had a lovely time here poking at #Queenstown items on #Wikidata.

Was there a recent thing about mapping public/municipal Xmas trees? I can't find the details now, but have found a tree. Doesn't really feel like sort of thing I'd map, but I guess they're often as seasonal and predictable as many other things. #OpenStreetMap

This is very strange: the example given on the wiki page is exactly what I've entered, down to the name of the location. Did they know? :-) wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/… #GreenSquare

All I was trying to do was a little check of some #Wikisource author template parameters, but now I'm five steps removed from that and working on releasing new versions of a library used by a library used by a library that I wanted to use to check the… wikis.world/@samwilson/10940…

It's bad to build one's own #Markdown flavour isn't it?

I think #Flickr should get on the #ActivityPub bandwagon and join the fediverse.
The problem with #Wikimedia conferences is that they leave you with 74 things that you Definitely Intend to follow up on. There is a chance, however, that not all will be seen to.

This #Wikidata import of All The Hotels is rather annoying sometimes. #Coogee is full of hotels and B&Bs and so is #WikiShootMe! But they're not super interesting to photograph, and I'm sure there are more entities around here that should have P625 (or maybe need to be created).

Okay, exploring done, I think it's time to go exploring. #OpenStreetMap

The Tasman (see 🐘[email protected] I know what sea it is!) is dark and windy and cliffy just here.

I've made it on to a bus. It might be the right one, who knows...

Day six in #Sydney and I'm finally sitting in some green space. Something of a scrubby park, but it's lovely after being inside buildings for days. The "living walls" of Central Park are impressive but they don't really feel very relaxing.

So #ESEAP is over, till next year. Wonderful couple of days.

"So 'Wikimedia sister project' means that only women can work on it?" 😆 Wikimedia jargon can be pretty confusing. (Venuslui talking about how we communicate to people outside the movement.) #ESEAP
