Ujjain, MP: A 20-year-old woman from Indore met Chakresh Jain via Instagram a few months ago, and they had met once or twice previously. Chakresh invited her to Ujjain on Monday. Upon reaching Ujjain, she met Chakresh and another man near Meghdoot Hotel, where they allegedly picked her up in a car. The woman claimed that four other men later joined them and that she was sexually assaulted inside the moving vehicle. She further alleged that she was severely beaten and a plastic pipe was used to inflict injuries on her private parts. Two men subjected her to oral sexual acts inside the vehicle. She was subsequently dropped near Aurobindo Hospital in Indore. An FIR had been registered against Chakresh Jain and another individual based on her allegations.

Devpalik Gupta, 31, was travelling on the Ranchi-Patna Janshatabdi Express. He is the digital media manager of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. His body was found near railway tracks in Ranchi on Tuesday. Gupta was travelling with two colleagues when he reportedly went towards the pantry car to get food and could not be traced. Police said a preliminary examination indicated a possible head injury and suggested he may have fallen from the moving train.
