70 Indian migrants working at the Trishuli-1 were reported missing after the floods of August 26, 2026. Several Indian companies are involved in projects across the sector, creating demand for workers with specialised technical skills and experience.
Many of these workers are employed on a contractual basis through project contractors or companies and are often deployed at remote, geographically challenging and disaster-prone sites.
In this explainer, we also explore what takes Indian migrants to Nepal.

EJCP at @NewmarkJPlus gave me the confidence to chase new opportunities, helped @sanshey and I clarify our mission and develop our business model. And I got to make connections with a great cohort of other entrepreneurial journalists.
I have such fond memories of our sessions.
Visuals are a key part of impactful storytelling — but finding the right footage can be a challenge. 🎥

A refreshing piece for my eyes tired of seeing "AI" & "Journalism" in the same headline. There are multiple forces trying to pull the rug from under our feet.
77% of US news influencers have no news backgrounds. In this piece, @Shu_cheetah explores what the news industry could learn from this!
Does it mean ringing in the new year with a dispelling of the illusion of unbiased news?

This @inoldnews project has built a library of more than 700 video clips from 13 countries underrepresented in media coverage, free for journalists to use in covering climate change. They've documented everything from mangrove restoration to flooding, from Saint Lucia to Myanmar.
For our Capturing Climate Change project, supported by @earthjournalism and Sida, we worked with journalists all over the world to build an archive documenting the impacts of and solutions to climate change.
