Sometimes interoperability can seem abstract. But it has a real impact on patients. Re-sharing @morgan_gleason’s story about a mistake in her medical record that could have impacted her care of she hadn’t spotted it early cnbc.com/2018/12/09/medical-… – at San Francisco, CA

Thoughts as I sit in a waiting room for annual checkup: even using @Zocdoc, the intake process is still far from user friendly. Curious what major barriers are - privacy/security concerns from the provider, tech integration resources? – at San Francisco, CA

Can't tell if Apple picked the best week or the worst to roll out the Research app. Privacy is top of mind, so maybe less willingness to share data with a tech co? But it also shows how a consent process can be done, vs. how Google approached its relationship with Ascension.

I was a big fan of the potential for e-cigarettes to help people quit smoking real cigarettes. I loved the concept of harm reduction but this story (and many others) suggest that these things may be even more addictive and have fewer barriers to use than conventional cigarettes – at San Francisco, CA

I think #vaping deserves a lot of scrutiny, but this case of @nytimes reporting feels really weak - labeling it as "the sole reason" for death of an older patient with COPD and afib. Hope the subsequent episodes are stronger nyti.ms/343zoDy

Yesterday, @chrissyfarr quoted me in a story on Peloton’s IPO. The quote — “We’ve inadvertently designed a society where it’s hard to be healthy. So many of the solutions aren’t available to most people” — puzzled many people, so I wanted to explain what I meant. Here goes:
