"Oh, I feel better!" Those four words made me genuinely happy yesterday. 🥹❤️ I had a patient who sustained a femoral shaft fracture following a road traffic accident and underwent ORIF. She had physiotherapy while on admission, but yesterday was her first session since being discharged about two months ago. During my assessment, she complained of thigh and knee pain. We proceeded with treatment, and immediately afterwards, she stood up and said those words. Honestly, I did not even remember to ask her to rate her pain after the session. 😂 But that spontaneous remark alone made my day. Of course, we still have a rehabilitation journey ahead, but moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Sometimes, it is the little improvements that make all the difference. Sincerely, I love being a physiotherapist. ❤️

Think about how much you use your hands during a typical workday. Typing, clicking, scrolling, dragging, designing, writing and switching between applications. Now imagine doing most of these for several hours, almost every day. Your hands and wrists are doing a lot of work too. As a physiotherapist, I think we need to pay more attention to the physical demands of digital work. Pay attention to recurring discomfort, fatigue or unusual sensations. Review how your workstation is arranged and give yourself opportunities to change activities. Remote work may not involve physical labour in the traditional sense, but that doesn't mean your body isn't working. Digital creators, writers and developers, have you ever experienced wrist or hand discomfort after working for hours? Let's hear your experiences.
