ScaleAgData

ALT Researchers on the field 👨‍🔬 👩‍🔬 🌿 On the 27th of April 2023, the sampling campaign of the ScaleAgData project started. Over the next 2️⃣ years, our researchers will collect information on the forage yield of meadows in #southtyrol. Ground measurements will include data on productivity, leaf area index (LAI), chlorophyll content and soil moisture 🍃 These data will be decisive in the development of satellite-based models for monitoring and managing agricultural production on a regional and Alpine scale 🛰 👨‍🌾 👩‍🌾 Furthermore, it will be possible to assess the impact of drought on the productivity of alpine meadows to develop adaptation strategies and measures to mitigate its effects 💧 🏔 The team consists of six researchers from our Institute and from Center for Sensing Solutions who will sample the grassland on a bi-weekly basis during the vegetation growth season.
