Every component of every factory requires someone who understands how it works, how to build it, how to operate it, and how to maintain it. Not all of this knowledge can be written down. A contraction in population may very well lead to a contraction in industrial complexity, which may cause industry to roll backwards down a few exponential curves, which could certainly compound. I don't think AI will magically solve this for the same reason that books don't magically solve it. The technologies that will be most stable over the coming century will be those that are simpler and more sustainable. An industry for gasoline cars with thousands of engine components may be much harder to sustain than electric cars with a couple electric motors and a bunch of mass-produced batteries. Software and computing will also need to get vastly simpler, including on the manufacturing side. Every trend in this area has been exponentially in the opposite direction, which is a very concerning sign.

ChatGPT already helps millions of people find what to buy. Now it can help them buy it too. We’re introducing Instant Checkout in ChatGPT with @Etsy and @Shopify, and open-sourcing the Agentic Commerce Protocol that powers it, built with @Stripe, so more merchants and developers can integrate agentic checkout.

Not war just yet. First, words. Before the Cloud War Games kicked off, we captured evergreen interviews so @schematical can keep sharing their story long after the event wrapped. (Yes, that’s a RED camera making sure every answer looks epic.)

Just squeezed 2 gear carts + 4 less-massive humans into 1 confused elevator for a shoot with @schematical: startup-turned-AWS-scaling machine. Next up: BTS from Cloud War Games. Techies. Tension. Possibly forgotten Wi-Fi passwords. Stay tuned. #BackflipBTS #Schematical

Building agents isn’t the hard part. Scaling them is. Once you go beyond a single task or tool, everything breaks: context windows, tool logic, retries, memory, collaboration. Key components behind scalable AI agents: - Frameworks for multi-agent workflows - Tools that talk to APIs and chain actions - Hybrid memory to recall and reason - Vector DBs and knowledge graphs to store information - Async engines that recover from failure - Monitoring, deployment, and usable interfaces If your agent can’t do all this, it’s not ready to run.

AI Agents are taking over 2025 But most are still navigating without a clear roadmap. If you want to lead, this is the roadmap I recommend. It’s the one I wish I had when I started Master these 3 pillars: 1️⃣ Fundamentals If your foundations are weak, your agents will break under pressure. Learn how to • Structure messy, unstructured data • Use RAG to boost reasoning • Write prompts that don’t fall apart in prod Top courses • Generative AI for Everyone (Andrew Ng) → deeplearning.ai/courses/gene… • h2o.ai LLMs – Level 1 → coursera.org/learn/h2o-ai-la… • Prompt Engineering for Developers → deeplearning.ai/short-course… • Preprocessing Unstructured Data → deeplearning.ai/short-course… • Getting Started with GenAI APIs → coursera.org/specializations… • Intro to Retrieval-Augmented Generation → coursera.org/learn/introduct… 2️⃣ Architecture Agents aren’t just smarter chatbots. They plan, act, adapt. Learn how to • Connect tools, memory, and goals • Think in workflows, not conversations • Use LangChain, AutoGen, and beyond Top courses • Agent Fundamentals with RAG + LangChain → coursera.org/learn/fundament… • LangChain for LLM Apps → deeplearning.ai/short-course… • Build Autonomous Agents (Python) → udemy.com/course/build-auton… • Agentic Design Patterns (AutoGen) → coursera.org/projects/ai-age… • LLMs as OS: Agent Memory → deeplearning.ai/short-course… 3️⃣ Scaling Building is just step one. Make it robust. Learn how to • Coordinate multiple agents • Debug and evaluate • Deploy RAG at production scale Top courses • Troubleshooting Agents → coursera.org/learn/building-… • Multi-Agent Systems with crewAI → deeplearning.ai/short-course… • Advanced RAG: Build & Evaluate → deeplearning.ai/short-course… If you’re done wandering, start here Share it to help others leave the sandbox too. 🗂️ Full roadmap is also on GitHub → github.com/HeyNina101/ai-age… For a more advanced and original visual roadmap sh, check roadmap.sh/ai-agents — one of the most solid references out there

🚨CODEFINGER RANSOMWARE TARGETS AMAZON WEB SERVICES A new ransomware gang, Codefinger, is wreaking havoc on AWS S3 buckets by hijacking Amazon's own server-side encryption (SSE-C) to lock victims out of their data. Using stolen or exposed AWS keys, they encrypt files, leaving victims powerless to decrypt without paying up - and marking files for deletion within 7 days. This isn’t your typical ransomware. Codefinger skips the usual data-leak threats, instead opting for outright destruction to pressure victims. Halcyon’s Tim West warns that if this technique spreads, it could pose a "significant systemic risk" to organizations relying on AWS S3. Source: The Register

AWS Post-Quantum Cryptography Migration Plan AWS is preparing for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) by implementing NIST-approved algorithms to protect against future quantum computer threats to public key cryptography. Its migration plan consists of four workstreams: creating an inventory of current crypto usage (prioritizing data-in-transit), updating asymmetric key derivation between AWS endpoints and customers, addressing long-term digital signature keys, and handling short-term session signature keys. AWS recommends organizations prepare by making an inventory of their cryptography usage and upgrading to TLS 1.3. aws.amazon.com/blogs/securit…

AWS just expanded its IP footprint massively. •IPv6 grew 25x to 96.9 × 10^29 unique addresses. •IPv4 tripled to 157M addresses. By announcing super-aggregate prefixes, AWS reduces #BGP hijack risks and solidifies its status as the 2nd largest IPv4 holder after the DoD.
Just after 15:30 UTC on Dec 11, 2024, @awscloud began announcing 1000+ new BGP prefixes covering nearly all of the cloud provider's assigned IP space. As a result, the total amount of IP space originated by AS16509 increased 3x for IPv4 and 25x for IPv6! kentik.com/analysis/aws-anno…
