Sadly Rex is now in kennels due to no longer being able to wait at the vets. We have struggled terribly to find him a foster home. This sadly will now be more of a struggle as we have established that this puppy is frightened of men. We desperately need to find him a calm women only home ideally so we can work with him and his foster people. CAN YOU HELP, PLEASE SHARE? Rex was born in February 2024. Not only is Rex being monitored and cared for due to hip dysplasia but also has suffered some sort of trauma and mistreatment with humans already. Words fail us and we are devastated for this puppy. Please retweet, cats and dogs are being dumped, neglected and abused all across the UK and Ireland. A stray dog can be euthanised in a council pound after just 7 days if local shelters are full. Rescue shelters are full‼️ Why have we not seen the large charities on tv asking the government for a halt to breeding? If we emptied all the rescue shelters, while we have such prolific licensed and unlicensed breeding, they would be full again in weeks? The dog shown below was abandoned in #Cork #Ireland this week, but I am seeing the same in the UK. Surely we need to halt breeding and do more to ensure animals are not being hurt and used for profit? Since then, all her puppies have found loving homes but Luna is still sadly looking for her forever home. When Luna first came in, she was very wary of men and had so much energy to burn that she would become very frustrated. Luna is now at our Edenbridge centre and has gotten used the daily routines and has calmed right down. She can still be wary of new men she has not met before but has come to like many male members of staff and volunteers. Luna is ok with other dogs but doesn't like dogs that are to boisterous or bouncy so must be the only pet in the home. Luna loves her walks but will need further lead training as she gets very excited and can pull. Luna did not seem to know what a love was and at first used to freeze when receiving attention. She now will jump up at her door every time you get her out for a quick cuddle and a fuss. Luna will make a lovely pet for someone who has the time and patience to help with further training and socialising. No small animals or children.
