Don’t remove my right to choose self catering over hotels which don’t meet the needs of my family group. Support the needs of the little people not corporates

Fancy that. You pillary tourists who decide to dodge your hostility and then despair when your cash cow goes to pastures new… Don’t suppose anyone at Edinburgh council is interested in learning from the errors of others. facebook.com/share/1YcovNTQo…

There you go. To all the fucking half wits who decried the world champs super event coming to Scotland a couple of years ago… Well now the biggest annual multi day event in the world is coming to town. Get that right up your narrow minded nimby arses

Sharing dick pics and operating as unregistered landlords. No wonder our supreme leadership really did have its attention elsewhere than on creating sound legislation

Edinburgh council in waste scandal…. Surprised, not…
Edinburgh Council has just wasted £100k covering high salaries & costs of a new fund to “support” 3rd sector. 42% of ALL money committed so far is being hoovered up by operating costs. This effectively takes £235k a year out of front line delivery for communities. Indefensible.

Brian Ferguson is expectedly incandescent. It’s amusing to see his endless ranting I’ve said it before. Putting public money into supporting folk sitting about on their arses is never going to address the health crisis we have here in Scotland.

All this ire being directed towards self catering in relation to the pressure on Edinburgh by tourism is totally missing the following points. The council has successfully shut down about 80% of the self catering units. All this with zero nuance on the specifics of each case. Not a hotel, aye we will be shutting you down. Where are these excess tourists now staying? I’ll tell you where. Hotels! Endless new hotels have conveniently been spun up over the past few years, indeed the council has gotten in on the game there with two of their own on the way. You see the council WANT the city to be crammed to the brim with visitors year round. The council coffers are rewarded handsomely. If you think it’s bad now you ain’t seen nothing. The plan all along was to shift the revenue from the little people to big marquee offshore entities. The end state is the streets are just as busy or busier and for longer. Who will you be blaming then when the self catering scapegoats doesn’t hold and the problem remains….? All this city wide redevelopment into hotels isn’t solving any housing crisis soon. It’s pure unadulterated capitalism of the most grotesque scale and only those in power benefit. One might be included to infer foul play

Yet again a glaring example of how our supreme leaders are failing our young people. Not only does the SQA fail to deliver the results correctly but the system has failed to deliver the required levels of attainment. How will the SNP spin this one 🤔

edinburghnews.scotsman.com/n… The irony of Living Rent claiming his shed is stealing housing stock just goes to show how blinded by rage they are. They are no longer objective. It’s his shed in his back garden Are peoples back gardens now forming part of the city development strategy? I mean you could definitely build a townhouse in my back garden…. Access via shared entrance would get my objection

As a member of the Scottish electorate, I t’s very sad that whilst I agree with many of the English green policies i simply cannot bear to offer my ballot to the crackpot Scottish Greens. It’s about time the Scottish Greens had their association with the wider green movement fully rescinded.

So let me get this right. Because of the actions of Edinburgh Council and the consequential reduction in short term flexible self catering accommodation, the city now lacks the required supply to meet the demand spikes of such events. As a result they are evicting/relocating those in temporary accomodation to make space for these fairly standard surges… I don’t expect the council will accept any culpability here @SaveSCScotland ? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd11…
