My dear father, Bob Joudry, passed away at the end of August. It was a sudden and devastating loss for our family.
Dad was a military man, joining the Canadian Armed Forces at age 17 and serving for 42 years, 70% of his life.

Congratulations to Lorne Doerkson on being elected as the next Premier of British Columbia.
This is a critical time for our country. I look forward to working with Premier Doerkson to break down barriers to trade between provinces, develop our natural resources, strengthen Canada's self-reliance, and create good-paying jobs.
"Learn from France. Own the streets. Shut government down. Grind the province/country to a halt..."
This is the NSNDP ethics critic and Whip calling for France-style riots in Nova Scotia. This is what that party under Claudia Chender has devolved into. More whacky rhetoric.
A great read from @FredDeLorey with a Nova Scotia angle that most readers wouldn't be familiar with.
This week, Alberta’s secessionist movement didn’t just lose. It was humiliated.
I wrote about the sheer political incompetence of this movement for the @TorontoStar. Anger isn't a strategy, and this was never a serious political machine.

Congratulations to Daniel Allain on being elected the next leader of @pcnbca!
Private money. Thousands of jobs during construction with hundreds during operation. The local community and economy will benefit. This is a good thing for Cape Breton, and a good thing for Nova Scotia.
This is a big day for Nova Scotia. Today, I joined EverWind as they announced plans for more than $10 billion in private investment in Nova Scotia.
The investment includes a new data centre campus in Point Tupper and in wind energy projects across Nova Scotia. Together, these projects are expected to support approximately 2,000 construction jobs and 215 permanent jobs.
That's thousands of opportunities for Nova Scotians to work on major projects right here at home.
Of course, projects of this size must be developed responsibly. EverWind has committed to meeting the expectations of both the federal and provincial governments to protect electricity ratepayers, safeguard local water resources and ensure communities share in the benefits. We will hold them to that.
Nova Scotia has the people, the resources, and the potential to compete for major investments like this.
We need to keep getting projects moving, creating opportunities, and building an economy that works for Nova Scotians. That’s how we continue to increase Nova Scotia’s self reliance. That’s how we continue protecting our future while building Nova Scotia.
Yesterday was a great day for our province with Ottawa’s investment in moving Wind West forward. Today is another great day with this significant private investment.
Congratulations to EverWind, their partners, workers, and everyone involved in this exciting announcement.

As Skeena MLA, i was invited to witness citizens fighting forest fires.
It was heartbreaking
To use this as a political slogan is tasteless to say the least
When calling an election on Tuesday, David Eby repeatedly compared the current political situation to wildfire season. He thought he was being clever.
Five Canadians have died from these wildfires this year. They're not an opportunity to make "clever" jokes about, especially when Eby's province has been among the most impacted.
BC Conservative interim leader @LDoerkson says Eby should apologize. Do you agree?
Honestly, the @Conservative_BC team should just put this on TV as an ad to showcase @LDoerkson.
Eby talks in hypotheticals and analogies about wildfires. Doerkson was actually out in the woods dealing with them directly.
Zussman's pinned post is still from when he was a reporter on election night in the 2024 campaign.
He'll likely win the seat, but this is the sort of thing that increases cynicism of those covering politics and what their agenda is.
It is an honour to be the BC NDP candidate for the upcoming election in Saanich South. I can't wait to get to work. It would be the honour of a lifetime to serve you in the Legislature. #bcpoli

Great BC observation from @seanjoudry.
Is it possible the NDP doesn’t even understand their own narrative?
When your war room can’t build digital ads or social posts around the "why," how on earth are candidates supposed to explain this on the doorstep?
Incoherence.
What’s odd about the BC election call is the seeming lack of preparedness by the NDP. It’s been 24 hours and the Party’s social channels haven’t posted anything. No new social ads. Website hasn’t been refreshed.
Little things, but they give insight into the campaign.
I tuned into @alexeheath's podcast with @finkd over the weekend to check out the latest with @Muse.
It's the most intuitive agent I've used and really shows @Meta has quietly been cooking over the past while. Generous usage limits and a lane of its own vs. competitors.

Obviously- good on Evans for calling it out. Keith Russell should just resign and let voters have a say in a by-election.

Critiques like these can be especially devastating because they puncture the carefully cultivated image of candidates like Claudia Chender, who present themselves as reflections of everyday voters, and expose them as run-of-the-mill politicians at a time when that is deeply out of vogue.
Any wonder she got so worked up about it.
There will always be a group of people out there who want to say "no" to jobs and opportunities to maintain the status quo.
In this case, it's being led by a NDP candidate of record in Halifax who, oddly enough, isn't identified as such in this article.
