🔴 Discover Airlines has retired its final Airbus A330-200, D-AXGE, on October 28, 2026, after flight 4Y051 from Philadelphia to Frankfurt. The retirement completes the phaseout of its three A330-200s, leaving 15 A330-300s. Four Airbus A350s are planned by mid-2028.

This is what a high-speed rejected takeoff after a tire burst looks like!
During takeoff, V1 is the critical decision speed. Before reaching it, pilots can reject the takeoff for certain serious problems and stop within the available runway. Once V1 is reached, the general plan is to continue the takeoff because there may not be enough runway left to stop safely.
Now imagine a tire bursting with this kind of speed. The crew had only seconds to assess the situation and respond according to the aircraft’s procedures. At that speed, stopping wasn't a simple task.
This incident happened on July 10, 2024, at Tampa International Airport in Florida, involving an American Airlines Boeing 737-800.

Ezeiza International Airport (EZE/SAEZ), Argentina’s main international gateway, is operating under significant runway restrictions from October 25 to November 11, 2026, due to scheduled infrastructure works.
During this period, operations are restricted to Runway 11/29, with the available runway length reduced from approximately 3,300 meters to just 1,850 meters.
The works involve rehabilitation of the secondary runway (17/35) and the intersection with the main runway, alongside associated airfield infrastructure improvements.
Operational impact:
Some international airlines have suspended services during the restriction period.
Other carriers are reducing frequencies, revising flight schedules or introducing technical stops for refueling.
Long-haul, wide-body operations face particular constraints due to the reduced take-off distance.
The airport terminal remains open, but passengers travelling through Ezeiza should check directly with their airlines for the latest flight schedules and itinerary changes.
The project forms part of a broader airport infrastructure investment program valued at approximately US$110 million.

Arjantin’in Ezeiza Havalimanı’nda devam eden pist çalışmaları sırasında, normalde 3.300 metre uzunluğundaki pistin kullanılabilir mesafesi 1.850 metreye düştü.
Bu şartlarda gerçekleşen Boeing 767 kalkışı, havacılık operasyonlarında performans hesaplamalarının ve hassas planlamanın önemini bir kez daha gözler önüne serdi.
Uçağın havalanması kadar, kısıtlı pist mesafesinde kalkışın gerektirdiği operasyonel hesaplamalar da dikkat çekiyor.
Çünkü büyük gövdeli bir uçağın kalkış performansı; ağırlık, yakıt miktarı, hava koşulları ve pist şartları gibi birçok değişkene bağlı.
