In an email to parents, the Queen Anne’s County schools superintendent called for more dialogue on racism in the county and voiced support for Black Lives Matter. Now a Facebook group called "Kent Island Patriots" is calling for her removal.

Hey teachers! 👋🏾 Friendly reminder that your Black, Brown and students of color don’t need you as a savior to save them. This is a harmful train of thought and is rooted in racism. Equity isn’t swooping in and trying to rescue students. Equity is interrupting systemic racism.
