What's the Sentry clip you watched and thought "the car should have done something"? Ours would have had a honk in it. Or the Boombox fart sound.

You're away for a week. The house-sitter has your Tesla keys "just in case." Agree on when the car might actually get used, say weekday mornings, and set those as Driving Hours in Sentry Driver, on the days you pick. If the car gets driven outside them, you get an alert. Live location shows where it is.

Same guy. Same car. Same time every morning. Sentry Mode has the footage. What it doesn't have is a reaction. With Sentry Pro's Sentry Actions by time, you can have the car honk or flash during exactly those morning hours, and stay quiet the rest of the day. Sentry Pro also tells your phone about that kind of hanging around, which Tesla doesn't push.

The body shop said they'd take it for "a quick road test." Sentry Driver keeps a drive log for every trip when your phone isn't in the car: the route, the distance, and how long it took. So you'll know if quick meant around the block.

Every Tesla can launch hard. Not every driver needs to. When your phone isn't in the car, Sentry Driver flags rapid acceleration and harsh braking on that drive, so you can see if the instant torque is getting used a little too often.

Does Sentry Pro wake up your Tesla? No. It doesn't keep polling the car to check on it. The car streams Sentry events out on its own while it's already awake, and when it falls asleep, that stream simply stops. Whatever battery Sentry Mode uses, it uses with or without us.

"Text me when you get there." Then nobody texts. Draw a zone around Grandma's in Sentry Driver and you get an alert when the car arrives. Live location covers the drive in between. It only watches when your phone isn't in the car, and they don't install anything.

Tesla's Home and Work exclusions decide where Sentry Mode stays off. They don't know when. Sentry Pro schedules add the when. Sentry on overnight if the car sleeps on the street, off during the day if it sits in the office garage. Set it once and it runs every day.
