I myself was a Blink since day 1, but I didn’t leave the fandom because of BM. I left the fandom because of how BlackPink solo fans were acting. As a Blink, I have seen things happening from the beginning. This is my take. Note: I don’t think there will ever be a better girl group like BlackPink ever again. There are good Blinks who don’t support BM, but they don’t attack BM either. There are good Blinks who supports BM too. Those Blinks are appreciated. So when I mention below as Blinks, they are not about all Blinks, but the Toxic Blinks. 1. All the hate towards BabyMonster started even before people saw all of the faces of BM members. When YG did the announcement, some toxic Blinks thought it would be the same transition like it happened between 2NE1 and BlackPink. Those toxic ones then started attacking BM. 2. Once the BM Last Evaluation covers of BlackPink came out. Rival fandoms of BP started saying it was better than BP. Then some toxic Blinks, without even looking at who it is, started attacking the BM girls. At this point, BM didn’t even have a fandom, but just interested parties who watched their covers. 3. Then when BM started releasing music, other rival fandoms said it was better than BP. Said BP said it didn’t have a Ballad like BM’s “Dream”. Then again, toxic Blinks started attacking BM girls. 4. BM girls started getting more heat from toxic Blinks when they started releasing music and MVs. Either through comparison or which was lingering since debut. 5. Then there were some toxic Blinks who were Teddy fans. When MEOVV was debuted, they started supporting MEOVV and attacking BM. BM fandom (Monstiez) has all the right to defend, attack, and even do comparisons between MEOVV since both were 5th generation groups. 6. Then there are Monstiez who were fed up with being bullied by toxic Blinks, who started retaliating. There’s a limit of hate even some fandoms can take, regardless of how senior or established BP is. They had to defend the BM girls against all the bullying. 7. Some toxic Blinks are just supporting MEOVV out of pure hate towards BM. So when they get attacked by Monstiez, they say “Monstiez are toxic and attacking BP”, no, they are not. They are attacking MEOVV. 8. Monstiez took it all in the start, even some hate coming from PomPom’s (MEOVV fandom). Then Monstiez started attacking. Now they don’t even wait for an attack. Monstiez will sometimes initiate attacks. It’s a 5th Gen rivalry, which started thanks to some toxic Blinks. I don’t think Blinks as a whole needs to be part of it. Regardless, they support MEOVV because Pinks are close to them or because of Teddy. It’s not BabyMonster or Monstiez’s fault that Blackpink wasn’t treated well by YG. It’s not their fault that the Pinks (BP girls) aren’t active as a group. Go look at HYBE, BTS is supporting all its 5th Gen juniors, but Pinks, they don’t even do that. BM or Monstiez don’t even expect that, they just don’t want to be attacked by its own senior groups’ fandom. Let me know if I have missed anything.
