Astonishing post. Wants India to congratulate someone who has a long record of targeting India. Navi Pillay has regularly criticised India on human rights during her tenure as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (2008–2014) She has attacked India on Kashmir and mass graves and disappearances, on AFSPA, on Sexual Violence and New Delhi gang rape(2012), calling for substantial legal and systemic reforms to tackle widespread sexual violence, and Caste and Gender Discrimination (2014) Throughout her tenure, she has has had policy frictions with India on human rights issues. India has officially responded to her attacks. She has also been a judge of the ICC which India does not recognise.. What is the case for congratulating her? Simply because she is of Indian origin?
It’s been six days since this remarkable woman of Indian origin (see her story, attached) won the #NobelPeacePrize. And the Government of India, her ancestral homeland, hasn’t so much as congratulated her?! Shame on the petty men who have made such a deplorable decision.

People don’t realise how many layers of prejudice an Amdavadi has to navigate online, especially in these days of cheap data. 1. Being Indian. 2. Being from Gujarat. 3. Being Gujarati. 4. Being from Ahmedabad. Decades of experience have taught us to take it in our stride, often with a smile. But when such prejudice comes from someone supposedly learned, it does hurt. My only advice to those who see the world through such narrow lenses: travel more, meet more people, and experience cultures beyond...

Dear Elon @elonmusk You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago. As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts. It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi ) But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector. Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable. #OSTA ✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition. ✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted. ✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust. I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles. so todays India is not that old crony driven India. I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum. Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust. I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt. But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.
Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years complying with every single law and requirement of the government of India, so why still no license? Is Ambani the real boss of India?

Three numbers from Uttar Pradesh 2022 explain more about Indian elections than most commentary. 1. 203 votes. The margin that decided Dhampur, the closest seat in the state. The SP candidate led the EVM count; postal ballots settled it. 2. 12.88%. The BSP's vote share. It won one seat out of 403. 3. +1.6 points. The BJP’s gain in vote share. It still won 57 fewer seats than in 2017. The common thread: under first-past-the-post, where your votes land matters as much as how many you get. Seats are won at the margin. Most of us remember who won. Far fewer remember how. So we built Counting Day, a 10-question quiz on the 2022 UP election. Every answer is verified against the Election Commission of India results. Play in English or Hindi, in under four minutes. Play: votevibe-counting-day-up-202… Post your score and tag @VoteVibeIndia and me (@politicalbaaba) on X The top 3 scorers win VoteVibe goodies. The entries end at 7:00 PM | Monday, October 5, 2026.

Dear Maj Khushboo, When an officer carries military credentials into the public domain to offer tactical guidance on women’s safety, the responsibility is absolute. Good intentions cannot substitute for sound operational doctrine. Recommending a .177 CO₂ Glock replica as a self-defence weapon for civilian women is not simply bad advice—it is an invitation to catastrophe. Beyond the tactical fallacy of the tool itself, your demonstration compromised the cardinal foundations of firearms handling. 1. Disregard for the Four Cardinal Rules of Firearm Safety In tactical instruction, there is no such distinction as "just an airgun." Muscle memory and safety discipline are immutable. Your video compromised every foundational safety doctrine: Rule 1: Treat Every Weapon as Loaded Casual manipulation, brandishing inside a domestic space, and treating a replica loosely breeds fatal muscle memory should a civilian ever handle an actual firearm. Rule 2: Never Point a Muzzle at Anything You Do Not Intend to Destroy The muzzle consistently swept uncontrolled arcs, including camera operators and non-target backdrops. Muzzle discipline must remain absolute at all times. Rule 3: Keep Your Finger Off the Trigger Until Sights Are on Target Positive index-finger placement along the frame was repeatedly broken. Under sudden auditory or physical startle response, that finger contracts, causing negligent discharge. Rule 4: Be Certain of Your Target and What Lies Beyond It Displaying and operating a projectile device in casual domestic environments ignores ricochet mechanics and non-target backstops. 2. The Operational Fallacy of a CO₂ Replica for Personal Protection Advising a woman to reach into a handbag for a .177 air pistol during a violent encounter ignores the realities of close-quarter street violence: Zero Terminal Ballistics: A .177 lead pellet or steel BB propelled by a 12g CO₂ cylinder produces negligible kinetic energy. It generates superficial pain, not hydraulic shock or central nervous system shutdown. Pain compliance fails against an assailant driven by adrenaline, rage, or narcotics; it merely enrages them. Guaranteed Lethal Escalation: A replica looks identical to a Glock 17. The moment a woman draws it, she escalates a dispute to a lethal encounter. If the assailant possesses a real firearm or an edged weapon, they will use lethal force without hesitation, leaving her holding a toy against lethal steel. Loss of Weapon Retention in the Ambush Zone: Street ambushes occur within zero to three feet. Untrained individuals cannot retain a full-sized frame in a grapple. An attacker will disarm her in seconds and use that heavy metallic frame to inflict severe blunt-force trauma on her. Mechanical Failure Under Survival Stress: Between puncturing a CO₂ seal, slow pressure decay over weeks in a purse, and the fine-motor dexterity required to disengage safeties under acute tachycardia, the platform is prone to failure in a crisis. Law Enforcement Engagement Threat: If a woman brandishes what appears to be a black service pistol in public, responding police or armed security units will perceive an active lethal shooter, placing the victim under direct friendly-fire threat. 3. Practical Doctrine: Legitimate EDC and Realistic Protection Tier 1 (Non-Lethal EDC): Deploy proven stopping tools like major capsaicinoid pepper gel, high-lumen strobe flashlights, or discreet impact/edged tools instead of ineffective toy replicas. Tier 2 (Empty-Hand Combatives): Train extensively in situational awareness, threat profiling, boundary setting, and biomechanical striking to create an immediate escape window. Tier 3 (Lawful Lethal Defense): If a threat genuinely necessitates a firearm, secure a lawful license for a compact civilian calibre (.22 LR / .32 ACP) backed by rigorous holster-draw and retention training. Please remember, We must equip our citizens with realistic survival doctrine, not lethal liabilities disguised as solutions. 🙏

How awesome is this...
A man with memory issues got lost during a pilgrimage in Amritsar and somehow ended up 1,200 km away in Gaya, Bihar. 83 year old Chaman Lal from Fatehgarh Gujran village, Ludhiana, could barely remember anything except the name of his village. Hungry, confused, and unable to explain where he belonged, he was spotted near Gaya railway station by a local construction worker named Neeraj. Neeraj took him home, fed him, sheltered him for 4 days, and spent 3 days searching online and using ChatGPT to identify the village. He finally traced Fatehgarh Gujran near Machhiwara Sahib, Punjab. But here's the part that restores your faith in humanity: Neeraj didn't just buy him a ticket. He personally traveled with Chaman Lal from Bihar to Punjab, showed his photo around local communities, and eventually connected him with his family. Local resident Master Krishan Lal recognized him, and his grandson Sukhchain Singh rushed to confirm his identity. The family, who had been desperately searching and sharing his photo on social media, welcomed Neeraj with garlands, clothes, and gifts in gratitude. In a world full of bad news, this story is a reminder that kindness still travels farther than any train. ❤️ Salute to Neeraj. Humanity: 1 Distance: 0

A masterclass in standing up to intimidation. During the Seoul Defense Dialogue 2026, a Chinese military attaché handed Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro a note reiterating Beijing’s claim that the 2016 South China Sea ruling is “illegal, null and void.” Teodoro read it aloud and dismantled it point by point. “No binding force” ~ “Because you don’t want to be subjected to UNCLOS.” “China does not accept the ruling” ~ “Of course, because you lost.” Then, in Filipino: “Show a little decency. Have a little shame.” The room applauded. Teodoro called China’s move “actual coercion, bullying and aggression” and kept the note as a “memento.”

Bollywood Bimbo strikes again. Twinkle Khanna @mrsfunnybones says Mughals invented Kofta, Korma and Kabab so we have no right to eat them. Someone tell this 20 IQ Moron. Koftas and Kormas are ancient Persian dishes that existed BEFORE Islam. Mughals were beggars who lived in tents before coming to India. Vast majority of Chagatai Turks/Mughals used to eat insects and locusts in their native homeland before coming to India.
